LAN/online?
I personaly think that while two players on the same computer can be fun, it does cause a few complications, for instace, screen watching, say in the final game there would be a cloaking device of sorts, this would be rendered useless, because no matter how hard you try not to, if you catch a glance of yourself in your enemy's crosshair on their screen, you will look, and you will react. Furthermore, for those of us who don't have X-Box controllers and a wireless adapter (like myslef), four players on the same keyboard is very cramping.
So I suggest LAN/Online play, not to take out one computer capabilities, just to add LAN and internet. this would eliminate the cramping for four players who have no Xbox controllers, but do have two computers (one team for each computer, or if you have four computers, all would be seperate), and it would also eliminate screen-watching. Furthermore, it would add alot more replay value, being able to fight anyone in the world anytime with online play, so tell me what you think.

Yeh i think online play would be great, like start up a server with up to 4 ppl and then have 2 a side it would rock!
EDIT: Not to sure about cloaking device.
EDIT again: I have a laptop and computer and my freinds bring over their computers sometimes and we all game out on seperate computers talking about LAN play.
AND EDIT AGAIN: I see your new, welcome to the forums

Welcome MDK. Hm.. MDK. Reminds me of donkey kong.
I think if you do the right thing you can play LAN already, but you need to download stuff and it's kind of complicated. As for internet, you can't right now.
It would most likely be a pain to implement but, still. So is everything else we want.

i think this would be a good idea,
providing the severs had an invenory of weapons,
not the weapons the people have modded, as to make things even
eg, noramal weapon server.
modern weapons, militarty weapons, all weapons,
insane omfgbbqzomg weapons. and finaly a test server,
for testing and evaluating mods realtime with people!
but that would be a great idea.

First, I would like to thank you all for the warm welcome .
I found CC shortly before build 13, and had eagerly awaited build 14, but only recently joined the forums.
Second:

I meant LAN which was as simple as hitting "Multiplayer" in the menu, selecting "TCP/IP" (or just "LAN") mode, and double clicking on your friend's LAN server, like with most games, I never liked it when mulitplayer involved downloading a bunch of stuff and going through a complicated process. That was just an example (though I think that would own), another example would be an underground assult, digging into their base from below, the enemy won't expect that, they will if they look on your screen though.

Netplay is going to lag like a ♥♥♥♥♥. LAN is perfectly okay. Use hamachi. I don't think demand will be high enough to warrant online.

There could be a way to work around all those mod problems...If so, it very well could happen.

Forcing mod downloads from the host a la Steam-powered games.

If almost all calculations were done client-side, I could see it working. It would allow for increased possibilities of cheating, but that's a minimal tradeoff. I suppose for when an object requires a random seed, that could be sent across the internet to the other computer. But all the basic calculations that would otherwise require so much bandwidth would be done client-side.

Weapon accuracy, and AI random seeds would be the death of this, every particles full data would have to be sent to make sure the players aren't having different data. My own idea was to have the server run the game(no host) and then it sends stuff to the players.
