I wish it'd continue loading things after I switch to another window, because I have tons of mods and sitting there waiting for it to start up takes forever.

I have an amazing trick for you!

Click and drag the CC window off the side of the screen so that only a small part of it is visable.
it should load at much faster speeds.

this strange trick works on everyone i know's computers.

Strange trick? All it's doing is moving the window. Not strange, not a trick... Just happens to work.

Yeah, and I can't browse the internet without switching to another window.

If you click on another window, cc will stop loading

Say, if cc loads and you click on another page, it will freeze and will only continiou after you click it

I really dont get the build 13 loading.. Its dumb, when you start it, it loads all the stuff, thus, it should start the game with no extra loading, but it does load second time, why? Whats the use of that?

Id understand if it would load at the beginning so you dont have to wait for it to load when you start a game

Its really wierd, if the stuff already loads up, why should it load again? :???:

I don't think it loads EVERYTHING the first time. I think the loading is split up.

Oh and I've had CC load itself without having to keep the window active. But only during loads, not actual gameplay (which is good). But I don't know how I did that...

Here's my rationale for the loading sequences.

The first load is a debugging load. It automatically loads each mod and ensures that they are valid and everything is done correctly. This is done so that someone can ensure code validity before the game starts and not having to go through the process of starting a new game.

Additionally, the two loading sequences allows you to load one configuration, then start a game with another configuration (say, if you added a mod after the game was loaded).

Finally, the pausing if you alt+tab away from the window is really useful. Say you're in game, and the game completely goes nuts on you. Your framerate dies, your lagging, everything short of a full on crash.

Well instead of ctrl+alt+del'ing the application, you just restart by pressing R, then navigate to the mod folder and edit what you need.

The way the game is set up is to benefit the coders and programmers, not the players. I fully expect this to change once the game reaches 1.0 status.

I agree that the first loading screen does look up if all the mods are correct, but the two loading screens are basically the same.

They seem to load pretty much all the same stuff.

And if you switch stuff in your mod while in game, then save the .ini file, and restart the game. If it now finds an error, it will still report it the same way than the first loading screen does, so there's not pretty much of difference here and there. :-o
