I think that would have to be an option because it could be annoying for certain players who don't like that sort of thing. I wouldn't mind it for online play though.

It would be cool, but yeah some people might not like it, but if it was a thing you can disable or enable in the options, that'd rock!

I have an idea! The fogged out area would just look like normal, only very slightly darker, and shows the last time you saw the terrain, which at the beginning would be what it looks like originally. All sounds would be normal though, so that you could hear a rocket coming at you.

Or you see everything normally but if you look in the direction of an enemy he will fade into view or something like that.

This could be done, not in a way that actors will desapear, and you get bad sight and stuff

If only there was a way to make the scene background layer over the characters, rockets and stuff layer, we could create that effect by adding a fog like background layer over the stuff covering it abit and giving that fog effect

That's exactly what I'm saying. Ever played Starcraft? when you see some buildings and then go away, the buildings will still be there on your map, just grayed out and not recently updated.

Yes, like that. But actors wouldn't fade in, they'd appear at the edge of your vision. Sharp would extend your vision, but it would be your whole screen by default. Any barriers of any kind would cause a block in your vision, other than actors.

Exactly. And like people were saying, you would be able to turn it off and on.

It would only be useful in online play though.

Yay for double post! This forum topic has gone some wierd ways :o . It started out about invisible shields, then a grammar thingy corrector, then a flame-war, then cool ideas for CC, then Fog of War!

This would also be useful in singleplayer, if the computer followed the same rules of not being able to see behind something.

What I'm saying is this. Typos are fine in chat, where you have to speak fast. But in forums, you have time. Just recheck your grammar before you click submit, please.

if you have to go somewhere or are in a hury (as i usually am) you dont have time for spelling and grammer (e.g. lunch break for school. this is when i post the majority of my posts)
if you want to know why i need an invisible shield then check my MGS3 topic in MODS

IM CALLING AN UBER TRUCE TO ALL
im sorry if i offended anyone and i still think that spelling and grammer arent uber important if they were the forum would come with a spell checker and im am also changing my sig
and ill try to be more careful about spelling

OR you could actually know what spam is, and that is that it's not just off-topicness. Look, you had enough time for 20 posts to argue with us. You had enough time for 18 posts with good grammar. And truce.
