Some things I noticed along with Ideas... :D
Hello, I found this interesting game two days ago and have played about twenty hours of it, (two days off work with nothing planned.. )
I've noticed some things and would like to point them out.. also I have a couple ideas to throw out there to you..
I understand how busy you's are, but I just had the urge to share my ideas. Its up to yous to weigh there usefulness.
Ok first off I think it should be human clones against robots exclusively... it would give the game a better team feel.. you have 2 human clones so far and 2 robots. As for the skeleton maybe replace with a small creature with 25 health lets call him.. "critter" for humans and "nanobot" for robots they should be able to jump with no jetpack and can only carry a pistol or nades?
I noticed with throwing nades if it falls into even the smallest crevice the nade fragments are completely absorbed into the surronding earth.. I think you should give the fragments more push through power. as well as more "bounce" seeing they easily get stuck on the small pixel sticking out.
Also AI actors seem to try and mash themselves through any obstructing surfaces and i must say, they do so with great success. I think you should make actors movements only displace obstacle pixels and make it impossible to "destroy" or remove though pixels through walking and moving.
When holding riot sheild along with pistol about 60% of fired shots from my pistol hit my own sheild.
Skeleton arms fall off upon dropship insertion quite often.
I realize these are all things you may be aware off and working on them I just decided to mention some of them. There are many more i've noticed that i realize are pointless for me to mention seeing you guys obviously arn't stupid or blind.
As for some other suggestions I have...
Maybe add some "jewels" underground which are worth a lot of money and take only a heavy digger to extract
maybe add landmines which can be thrown a very short distance and blink red only to your team, make them very discrete so opfor cannot easily spot them unless really looking for them
I think adding a flamethrower would be very cool as well
I've had great success fending off AI by digging tunnels straight down under my brain on both sides very close to my brain, all AI just walk and fall down tunnels, then once underneath my brain just walk back and forth looking up. Any drop ships that land directly above brain I just waste em with an actor carrying an AK.
Best of luck to yous on this game I see great potential in it. I have a strong feeling you's have played the game SOLDAT before.. If by some chance you haven't I suggest you give it a try. It's an amazing game that is in some ways similar to yours in concept.
Thank you for your time.

Very nice and intelligent new post, Ham. Welcome to the forums! The flamethrower's somewhere in the mods section, use the search button. Oh, and I'm making nanobots, but they'll fly and be fired out of a gun. The rest can't be modded, except for the stronger grenade. And it'll never be humans versus robots, since it's just two brains fighting over land and using anything they have, but thank you for your suggestions. Hope you have a good time here!

Welcome to the forums.
As for me, jewels seem really good idae and I was thinking it myself after playing 30 minutes and digging gold.
The Humans / Robots limitation doesn't sound very pleasant for me, because I find good use for every different body in the game.
Flamethrower would be also nice, and I think it's already been done by someone ( It's a mod ).
Good post and good ideas.

Wow, an intelegent new member. (pardon my spelling)
I never thought i'd see the day. Welcome. Hey guys, isnt it possible to just code the gems and create them as a mod? I'm not sure. Hey, if you want some good mods i recommend anything by piezo, punishers magic mod is pretty cool, and those are all i can remember atm. Oh ya, try my phase rifle too. Anyway, have a good time.

Thank you all for your responces. Im glad you's liked some of my ideas, I personally think the stronger nade would be very important to me seeing every game i've ever played that has nades in it, i have put to very creative and effective use.
To Az_440 May I ask what different uses you make of the different bodies? how do they differ? I notice some differences in the sketeton in comparison to the other four, But what about them?
To Thanatos... This may be just a shot in the dark but I play a lot of Americas Army, and I play on a Canadian server with the clan name THANATOS. Just wondering if you have any connection with them??
Thanks for directing me towards the mods section, i'll give some of them I try right now..
I really want this to go into online play.... I'd love to light yous up with the AK sometime in the near future.

Hey, welcome to the forums! If you want a powerful nade, download Dmod in the link below - you'll see. Or, download the COaD here: http://datarealms.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1642&highlight=coad
Dmod: http://files.filefront.com/DmodBuild13rte7z/;6746969;;/fileinfo.html (use WinRar or another uncompressing program to open it)
These are some of, if not the, most powerful "nades" in the game.
Go check out the scenes forum!

Well.
The Green Clone I usually use because it's cheap and effective.
Skeletons are good, because they don't bleed or lose energy after getting shot.
Robots are expensive, but they are good option to put in hot places, where bullets fly all the time. They are tuffer to kill, because of their armor value ( I think, and I've noticed )
The Blue Clone also is a special clone. I've noticed it acts differently than the green clone, and I usually equip him with a SMG. Blue Clone is light and endurable and can take hits. Im not sure but I also feel he bleeds a bit slower. He also don't mind by getting shot.
So. For me playing with only the humans / or robots would be annoying, but hey, that's just my opinion.
Maybe they could make a game mode that is like Humans Vs Robots.
and then you could switch between green ( robots ) or red ( humans )

Jewels you say.... Hmmm... If I take the gold material, give it the name, say, Diamond, make it sliver white color, then make a gold nugget (Or make a jewel and add it to the map) that has a jewel sprite, it should work like one, but I dont know how to make it more costy, I mean, if one gold nugget gives you about 50 gold, and I want the jewel to give 100 gold, I do not know how to do that...

I think it might just depends on the size of the gold nugget.

Have the jewels be TDExplosives, that after so many hits explodes into 100 gold particles, with some shard gibs.
