Post Mod compilations for newbs?
Would this be a good idea? Have someone assemble a pack of essential mods and scenes, and upload small episodic ones here (less than 5 mb) or a huge pack at, say, filefront. If I was just getting into CC, I wouldn't want to plumb into the depths of the mods pages. Anyway, smart? Or pass?

There would be a lot of feuding.

"My mod is good for newbs!" "No my gun are good for nubs!" "Both of your mods suck, mine is the best!"

This is when one person (or more) should create a pack (FROM SCRATCH, no compilations) called "The Beginner's Pack".

Stuff it with some well known weapons (like the MP5, the M4, a .357 Revolver, etc.) and some nice and easy levels. If someone decides to make that pack, I think it'd be pretty awesome. :)

This would eliminate the need for a compilation and fighting of who's in the mod compilation, but it could create problems, like "I'm going to make this pack!" or "STFURAWL I'M D01NG IT!!11!one"

So, which person (or persons) would actually make a pack involving some normal well known weapons and some neat levels?

Actually this is one of the reasons a few nice people created a beginner's guide sticky to the game. It includes a small sample of some popular mods. A compiled pack is not a great idea unless the person compiling them is planning to update them when the original author updates their mods (as most of us tweak here and there).

I can see people trying to push their "beginner packs" over another author's ;)

Hmm... people might fight over the decisions. I might add a map that has no brain *any one, even the original grasslands* so they can get used to harder difficulties and not be pwned by a horde of skeletons and crashing dropships. Classics should be in there too, like the perma spray for the base-dwellers and the Alarm Robot so they can learn when and how to get to their base quickly.

OK, I've compiled a rough list. Remember, these might be the first mods that a person new to CC might ever get, so they should be either balanced, very fun, or show just what can be accomplished by modding.

Acid hose
Aerial Cannon
Alert Robot
Beam Sword
Binoculars
Bolter Mk7
Bunshin-Jutsu
Coca Cola Can
Gray Fox
Hgk3
Invasion (s)
Missle of Doom
Permaspray
PP-19 Bizon
Regen. Clone
Ship Bombs
Sparkball
Speeder
Telekinesis
Total Protection Shield
Uranium Pistol
VH Digger
Walls (cube,bunker)
Walther WA 2000
Warbot Mk6

Feel free to submit any additions within 2.3 mb each (the space I gots left).
