"null" means no value whatsoever, so he didn't vote. At least know that before you start getting into coding.

Oh.....

I haven't really coded. I just modify other people's mods.

Well, modding cc isn't really coding anyway, it's just messing around with variables.

Once Data gives in to requests for the source code (which will never happen, but w/e) then we'll get into the true nature of ones and zeroes...

And I'd just like to say this for the new addition to our ever-increasing pool of interesting people...

Of course it does! PSP has the power of some laptops (although rather crappy laptops). I have a PSP and I've always wanted CC for it. I voted yes (of course). Who said earlier that someone got CC on their PSP?

The MIPS CPU core is globally clocked between 1 and 333 MHz. During the 2005 GDC, Sony revealed that it had capped the PlayStation Portable's CPU clock speed at 222 MHz for licensed software. Its reasons for doing so are unknown, but are the subject of some speculation. However, recently released games such as Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters use a 266 MHz clock speed. Various homebrew tools enable users to operate at 333 MHz, generally leading to a higher frame rate at the expense of battery life.

I don't see it happening.

I've seen people clock it higher.

And I saw a guy clock it to 1GHz

Then I saw the psp blow up in his face.

I say, if it's going to be on any portable platform, go for the DS. Homebrew is a pain in the butt to get on to the DS (I just got into the HB scene and it's frikking AWESOME), but 2 screens AND a touch screen for inventory control and aiming? How can you say that sucks?

I agree, CC on the PSP would be interesting, and a way to load mods on in the file would be awsome. That way it would'nt get boring. If there was no way to get mods on though, i doubt the game would last me 20 mins unless it was a later build. However, potable CC is still a good idea.

Your average person will have read the manual and learned how to connect the PSP to a computer, so I think we're good there. The only problem would be if DR actually DID pay for the dev equipment and put it on a UMD. Then we would have a slightly harder time getting it on, based on previous experience. The most likely thing is that we'd have to stick with homebrew.[1] (Which most people can't figure out how to use.)

EDIT: On that note--

Like if you want to show your friend THIS AWESOME GAME CALLED CORTEX COMMAND and your at KFC...
Take out your PSP and show him...

I made controls for it too...

I'm sorry, but I absolutely hate your control setup. It doesn't use the analog nub and looks extremely unwieldy. I'd personally recommend that [SQUARE] be fire, [X] be jump (assuming it's seperated from the jetpack), UP on the analog pad be jetpack, the rest of the analog pad directions act like the arrow keys/WASD keys do in their respective configurations, the analog nub be aim (which can automatically shift to sharp aim--people who use analog sticks, such as the ones found on game controllers, know this. Shift it far enough and it'll sharp aim, moving the camera with it) the L/R buttons stay the same, [O] be inventory, and possibly [TRIANGLE] be open the mini-menu for a unit or some other auxillary function.[2]

[1] Which I can't use because I'm not forking over $200.00 (plus S/H) for a mod chip I'd probably not even be able to install. And on top of that I am NOT paying $400 for a pre-installed PSP!!
[2] WOW, that was LONG.

If it was on a PSP, nobody would play it for more than a few minutes. The sole purpose many of us play cc is because of the moddability. If it's just at the hideously unfinished version it is now, even with 3x the maps and 2x the weapons, it still wouldn't be that great. These forums wouldn't exist (at least to the current degree) if we couldn't mod the game.

I'm pretty sure we're talking about the final version right? It will have a full campaign mode and a scene editor built in. If he feels ambitious, Data may even create a toll that allows you to create your mods from within Cortex command (or a seperate program with a UI that creates the code for you as you make the mod).

I voted yes. Here's why;

1. It would make CC available to more people because some aren't able to buy things online so
easily.
2. The PSP should have plenty of power to run the game; I'm not sure how many people realize
this, but the PSP is actually more powerful than the PS2, despite its small size.
3. CC would have the bragging rights of being a multi-platform game.
4. I want to see at least one true 2-dimenional game on a modern game sytem (one that's not
made by nintendo)
5. The PSP needs more games, and since CC is sure to be a good game, it could help feed all
those hungry PSP-ers.
6. Since every PSP is the same as far as hardware and stuff, some code could probably be
reduced because you wouldn't have to worry about making it playable by people with different
system stats. (I'm only talking about the PSP version, this would naturally still be a concern for
the PC version)

It's not like I expect Data to go through all of the work it would take to convert CC to work on the PSP, but if it were possible and he was willing, I think this would be pretty cool. Despit that, I think that Data should just worry about the PC version right now. Once that is complete THEN we can contemplate other things. (By the way, has anyone ever wondered what Data's future games might be like, if he continues making original games?)

Edit; Oops, I'm contributing to a necroed thread... X[
I got to this from someone's link. I thought it was an active discussion since the last post was from yesterday.

It would be great, but only once the final version is released. Also, it would be great on the DS more-so... you could have the bottom screen have a buy menu so you could always purchase stuff!
