If the government forces them to comply the companies will leave and screw the UK up yet again, all thanks to a thoroughly incompetent government which is just as bad as the last one that spent all our money. If the government backs down they will be seen as weak and that they are easily bullied by corporations, leaving the taxpayer at the mercy of big business.
