As true as that may be, for one thing it's a bit of an asshatted thing to say (as much as I'd love to tell you guys about my rad girlfriend I figure it's kind of inconsiderate to boast about anything concerning matters that infringe on her privacy, and could cause general frownyness in the many lonely people on the internet. I suppose it's a tad arrogant of me to think such things anyway but it saves hassle down the line regardless.) and for another the intention of any relevant government in the western world making moves towards invasive internet censorship is cause for concern, especially considering the supposed motives.

...It's fairly unlikely for a child to simply happen upon pornography, no? Sure, it's plausible that they might perform an accidentally risqué search on google images and be presented with something lewd but the chances are very limited unless the individual is actively seeking pornograhic material (safesearch off, searching "boobs" or "bottom" or "gay orgy" or whatever takes their fancy). I seriously doubt that internet pornography is to blame for the early sexualisation of people in our society these days, I'd say the correct blame would fall largely upon global media advertising using sex to sell products (and that sadly enough includes a lot of popular music and their related videos).

If anything it would be far better to implement proper sexual education so kids that do go looking for porn don't get their formative ideas about sex from strongly misogynistic videos about penis worshipping sluts :/

So I dunno 'bout you guys, but I stumbled upon some porn back when I was in 2nd grade. I turned out alright, so I really can't agree with any warnings of "hidden damage".

I just thought of something, if they want to block all porn, shouldn't they also block all profanity on the same principle?
With kids becoming more technically inclined, I'd like to bet they see or hear at least one profanity each day, in real life or on the web.

I've had unmonitored internet access for a long time, and all that it has caused is that I cannot stomach the standard glamour porn at all.

the point is not that they're blocking porn, they aren't, (even if they could) they'd offer a chance to disable the magic-filter.

How do you define a pornographic website? I mean, 4chan has porn, and it has, well, NOT porn. What about Imageshack? What about the Pirate Bay? What about google?
How do you define porn? Is a fully clothed but very suggestive dance porn? What about erotica? What about a video of a mother breastfeeding? What about a video on basic biology?

They seem to be attempting to pass very subjective legislation here, which IMHO is a bad idea.

but it also seems like society is moving towards a more openly sexual way of thinking. Adverts are the best, with more and more naked bodies showing up for body washes and perfumes, plus the clothing the youth wear these days, in particular girls, is ever more...revealing. Was in a near by city last week, and its -5 here during the day and this girl was around 17-19 and was wearing these tights which were somewhat see-through with a mini skirt on. I was like "What the ♥♥♥♥?" I then noticed a trend with a few girls doing the same. So i blame media for the rapid sexualisation of the world these days and not so much on porn lol.
