It doesnt work... I press Ctrl+G and nothing.. And the status bar thingy to click on is unclicable

Ctrl + G does work actually, the problem is, by default the word wrap feature is enabled. Untick it by going to FORMAT and the unticking WORD WRAP. Then naotepad will allow the GO TO function.
MAKE SURE TO DISABLE WORD WRAP THOUGH!!!

As far as modding goes, notepad works just fine. So long as word wrap is off, you don't need anything fancy, and I've never had a problem with the find/replace feature.
