StayDead
http://munkyfun.com/games.html#StayDeadThat's right, an on-rails shooter. But WAIT! It has zombies simulated with DMM! And that's GOT to be the best idea I've heard in a long while for use of Digital Molecular Matter. Unfortunately, I don't have a 360 (only PC and PS3) so I might not be able to own this one myself. However, it seems pretty damn early in development so hopefully it'll be multiplatform later. I doubt it. But anyway, this seems BITCHIN'!

Re: StayDead
This is the stuff of dreams. (although Red Faction Guerilla used a similar system, GeoMod, i don't think it was DMM though.) And it's applied to character models? So that means limbs won't leave a nice clean stump every time. This is a nice video too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE4k9Vmcp5gAlso, more FPS' need to be like this: http://www.pixelux.com/movies/PixeluxDemo.mov

Re: StayDead
Yeah, and apparently they're gonna use some of the features they showed in the Gamebryo realtime demo. Specifically, the realtime changing of materials. That little tidbit on StayDead mentioned freezing limbs, melting zombies, shattering them, and all sorts of highly-entertaining things. Hmmm...my neighbor has a 360, I'll just use hers or something. I just wish I could get some more info on it; I really wanna know something about release or the possibility of developing it for more than just the 360.

Wow! The DMM is amazing!!! Though it looks like you'll need a pretty damn good computer for games with it.

Re: StayDead
I downloaded the DMM plugin for Maya last night, and i'm going to install it now. I Can't wait for those tumbling towers and glorious shattering window panes.

Realmatter is better for flesh.

Re: StayDead
Testing RealMatter right now, with opinions back in a sec.
EDIT: Okay, the softbody flesh simulation with the zombie demo really didn't seem all that great. At all. It was like they were made of cottage cheese, and there was no bone or muscle, either. Maybe my standards are too high, but it didn't seem that great. Testing the rigid body demo now.
EDIT2: I'd say the rigid body destruction system is a LOT better than the softbody bits.
