People! Everyone, stop arguing about what we didn't actually started to use! Let's try all this for a week. And then we can decide, which changes we (dis-)like. No facts now and here. No facts - no deal. Agreed?

I can't see the reason why was removed those things which did nothing except some additional information and 3kb of traffic. But let's see what do we really got. As I know, moderators aren't dumb (nothing personal) so logically-theoretically they cannot do anything wrong and shout that they're right. Let's just sit and watch how is it going to be now. Forum is community. Let's try different ways. No changes - no fun.

Post count makes people want to post more than everyone else so they think they're smarter and have more experience like some sort of competition.

Location nobody took seriously and instead typed things like "Playing Cortex Command" which isn't even a location in the first place.

And Join date wasn't even really useful for telling anyone anything.

It was all useless. Nobody should care how many times you've posted. Nobody should care when you joined. And nobody should care about where you are.

Think of it- You've just made an account, and you need some tech support. You start a thread about x problem. Somebody posts a response and he's been around for three years. Another person posts a response, and has been around for a day. The former has 2000 posts, the latter has five. Which one are you going to trust? Obviously, you would choose the one with more posts and more time around. But now you can't tell.

Counter-Argument: The idiot with 2000 posts has racked them up by making pointless posts, and offers a "solution" that would result in damage to Cortex Command. However, monsieur five post has been lurking on the forums for a few months, and is entirely able to identify and solve the problem.

That is to say, post count does not equal reliability or intelligence.

Okay you're right that post count doesn't mean the person is intelligent or reliable, but just the fact that the forum is getting worse and worse is unavoidable. I'm sure all he is trying to say is removing these things was a terrible idea.

I have to agree with Weasel. Things like post count, joined date, and location are pointless. I've been here for a while, and as far as I can tell Weasel's made several wise decisions in the past. He's right, we can't all lead. We just need to trust him.
