looks like a more solid rope than it used to be, i like. skirmish with an uncrashy version is going to be awesome fun.

Alright, I'll post this until Roon updates the mod. There are other changes too like a less bouncy rope, pulling both actors (except dropships and rockets), and removal of other weirdness.

Also, I tweaked the effect mass has on the rope's pull. Should be less crazy.

Whatever of all this Roon wants to implement is up to him.

*Edit:
Forgot I had changes to the .ini xD

hooray! now, to try and run CC on a shitty laptop! <_<
first impressions are: needs less bounce in it, so you can hang from the line without perpetually bouncing. some bounce is good, but the elastic effect should peter off
also, your code is missing some variables. like maxdistance.

Whoops! Missed that one. Slipped that one in at last minute and didn't fully test it. Okay, should be error free now. Thanks, Geti :)

Your hook.lua file doesn't seem to work for me Kyred. Something about owner being nil spams the console.

Another oops on my part. Forgot that I made changes to the .ini as well. I included the whole thing in the upload now.

Oh, nice job Kyred, I'll check it out tomorrow.

Edit: That script is a monster, I'm leaving tomorrow, I try to decipher it when I get back (Friday).

Sometimes it ends up attaching dummies to objects, but that's hard to do. This method of attaching things together has so much potential... perhaps make a different gun which first hits an actor then passes it and attaches it to the object behind it instead of you?

Whee! I know I'm late to the party, but this is lots of fun (except for the crashing).

Could this technology be used to forcefully tether other units to the ground?

Edit: No crashing, I forgot I had the Dummy Behemoth installed, that was the problem.

Awesome mod, Seems to crash if you're grappled onto a dropship (Not sure if it's just the dummy one) as it leaves the map.

I tried to make a net to hold myself in the air, the net went spazzy, slammed me into the ground and killed me.

A little less elastic, please?
