It being a telnet game is another negative. If you're going to make a text-based mmo you might as well make your own client. Telnet interface pretty much sucks, and all those MUD clients have terribly stupid GUIs and methods of displaying the information.

The reason these never work is because MMO's are a time drain and nobody wants to spend a bunch of time just to play with the DRL boys.

Damn, i though i had a good one there. Then Project Torque can't be used either, it's lobby based too. Would have been real fun to do a 60 person nascar race with DRFF members.

We could try Wind Slayer. It's like Maplestory, only with characters that are less cuddly. (Why the hell would you want to remove cuddly?)

Honestly, I think we should just end up doing a giant poll. We would have to do this because, no matter what game we suggest, somebody will disagree. I like action MMOs, but others prefer MMORPGs, and others MMORTSs, so theres no way that we can completely decide on one MMO that will make everyone happy.

If we could find an MMO that played like Cortex Command though, that would be a different story...

(Soldat comes to mind, but that's lobby-based too)

The Chronicles of Spellborn is a new MMORPG release in Europe recently, soon to be released in North America and other places as soon as the American publisher gets their ♥♥♥♥ together. One of my favourite features of the game is no auto-attack. You have you aim your attacks, and choose your skill, and you can dodge enemy attacks. The AI can work in groups, for example when you fight a group of a warrior and mage, the warrior will get between you and the mage, to block attacks.
