maddog321 wrote: This is awesome, although it should have a different name. Naw. I prefer more subtlety in the name. The Old Ones are ancient by videogame standards: They come from the far-off prehistory of the eighties. It's a reference to the style I'm incorporating here, but not too obvious, like The Quarter Thieves or whatever. As for extra weapons, I can throw a few in there. Personally, I'd prefer to be doing something different with the way things work: The rift opener isn't much like any other weapon, and it seems to be a hit. For lack of new ideas, though, I'll make some more standard stuff. There will be a Pong shield. It will be mighty.

This is novel, funny, and AWESOME. YGMDL. EDIT: "Drop down, reverse direction, increase speed!!!" Is it bad that I refuse to use the dropship any way except how the original space invaders moved?

And, is anyone up for some Zelda II, in my opinion, they should of called it something else, then it would be the gold of the cream. So is there any chances of more Space Invaders?

I definitely don't punch holes in your walls, Enter your house, then get high on your Chaff Grenades, and then take your Kool-aid man tapes! What are you? Drunk? Anyway, I want a gun that shoots little space invaders that in turn shoot out more little space invaders, which in turn shoot out little bullets down to the ground like in the game. Yes much?

The craft is excellent, as is the turret. But the actors let it down, no DL, they're just too ugly. Make them nothing more than stick figures, or drop them completely.

Re: The Old Ones: Extraspatial Invaders
This is a terrible mod. Look at those sprites! Terrible drawing, and no shading. And the sounds! OH LORD THE SOUNDS! Like it came from an Atari or something. And you try to pass this terribly drawn faction as the rulers of the universe. Tisk tisk tis....*cracks up*...Ok I can't keep it up any longer.
Nice job! Nostalgic and a pretty cool idea, I give it an A++ would play again.

Fredrick wrote: "Drop down, reverse direction, increase speed!!!" Is it bad that I refuse to use the dropship any way except how the original space invaders moved? Bad? More like badass! But seriously now. Foa, I don't specifically plan on doing more Space Invaders or other retro game stuff. They really don't fit into Cortex Command: Sure, we could have a wider selection of dropships, but that's redundant. I don't want my selling point to be, "Oh hey guys, I made a rocket that looks like the Vic Viper." More like, "Hey guys, I made a rocket that looks like nothing in particular. Maybe it's the Vic Viper. But more importantly it shoots weird burny bullets that suck you in and multiply when they score a hit!" The style covers for my terrible spriting ability while I try to make something that's functionally different. The shotgun is shaping up to be really weird, and it's unlike any shotgun I've seen on here. However, I like that strangeness.

Re: The Old Ones: Extraspatial Invaders
Seriously, I love the dropship, but the actors are REALLY bad: make them fit your theme of arcade games better. considering there's no people in space invaders, either make them pixel stick-figures or someother pixel blocky thing, bot your white blobby things.

Re: The Old Ones: Extraspatial Invaders
This is awesome!!!!
I was going to say the same thing too, Exalion, I personally think the soldiers have to be simpler, like Mario back in the old days. They somehow look too complex when compared to the dropship. The only thing making not download this is the actors.
But anyway, I love this kind of homage thingy to Space Invaders XDDD
