Re: DarkStorm Military Technologies - Updated 11/16/08 (again)
For D7 users: read the description of the D7 in the first post. There's some good guidelines.
To break it down more succinctly: the greater space there is between the entry wound and the exit wound, the more likely they'll take the full explosion. So shooting into their body through their head (like if they're prone, or you're above them when they're standing), shooting their arm or weapon, or shooting somebody holding a shield will actually be more effective than a "clean" headshot. Even hitting a helmet or chest plate increases their chances of exploding. It's also easy to blow legs off. Of course, not much picking and choosing is necessary for shooting rockets and dropships.
Some of you may wish that the weapon just blows stuff up indiscriminately all the time, but its current functionality probably reflects an actual high-calibur armor-piercing rifle better. Also, this gun probably kills with a clean headshot about 50% of the time anyway.

Trust me, its better than things he's previously had as his avatar. Also, let me amend my previous post a bit: I'd say a clean headshot results in a kill about 75% of the time. Really, just try to not shoot them in the "neck" and you'll be alright.

I flew INTO the cave, studiously avoiding the bombs. I dug myself into the little crevice, amped my thrusters up with my doors open, destroyed the container and abducted the chip. And flew out again Mind you, I used 4 of them.

i love noeseekers current avatar. everything else has been tasteless and gross, at least these are cool. also, ugh. another DL make the cryogun misty.. ;-; please? the beamy things stupid, i dont care if its meant to be freeze, its bleh o.0 it would be way cooler as a sub -80 mist. flamer was a tad lazy, too. maybe use emitters for the fireballs, not MOSPs. ill have a look as soon as im home in a few hours. just had a bio exam, so im in the library.

I don't see why everyone hates NeoSeeker's avatars so much. What's wrong with Window Licker?

I love the chaff grenade, it is a shield in a can.
The new D7 is really balanced and fun. The chaff grenade is really useful in clearing room, the AI kill each other!

Sounds like my tweaks were successful.
Once I get back around to modding again, I'll make an artillery gun and redesign the drop ship. But as for now, I think I'm going on hiatus. I've been working like crazy on this mod for weeks.
Until then, have fun with whatever.

What's wrong with the dropship? Works perfectly fine and looks pretty good, too.

it needs gibs. ohkay, back from testing, things still get knocked out of my hands a bit easily but thats fine. electrolazer and mortar are great, the D7 is balanced now but it does need 7 rounds again. its currently "lucky 5", not nearly as cool. chaff is great thanks for the update.

Until then, have fun with whatever. I have a picture for you. Well atleast the D3 Jump Jet didn't trigger that bomb, but I didn't know it was an active bomb, and also, the chaff grenade doesn't shield you from harm.
