I recently purchased an activation key not knowing that I would need to be connected to the internet. I just took a 15 minute drive to the nearest store with Wi-Fi and registered the game I come home and try to play the game and its not registered. Just so you know my laptop is my primary computer and I am unable to connect to the Internet with it from home, due to dial-up, I was wondering if I am required to always play the game with an Internet connection or if I am able to play it offline.

Yeah, sorry to say, but you need an internet connection each time you start the game to verify your key. :/

Is that going to ever be fixed, or did I just waste my money?

It might be fixed in Build 21, which should be out in a few days. Data has a new key registering system. I don't know if it will specifically let you play while offline, but maybe.

It's not something that gets "fixed." It was put in intentionally. Maybe the new system doesn't need it though.

Data said he hoped to have the new registration system out by Monday. Meaning tomorrow.

Yes finally! Just so I get this right all I do is upgrade my key and I can play offline or do I need to register once online? Ide try it now but I have to head out for work.

I'm not sure if the new licensing system still does this, but I'm pretty sure a license will only work for ONE computer, meaning that you're going to need to get your PC online at some point in time to register it.

You might be able to get it to work by moving your CC install onto the laptop you used and register it on that, then move the install back to your PC when you're done.

a) You can install and register offline. Seriously.
b) Moving and registering is a GUARANTEED way of getting it NOT to work.

So that means I dont even need to unregister?

If you have an updated key, nop, but you have to UNREGISTER your key before updating.
