And by total conversion I don't mean turning Coatilation into robots, I mean the real deal. Doubt it would be limited for that reason. CC has a pretty distinct style, not just in art but in gameplay, and you could catch a thief a mile away. Not to mention it'd be more work to bypass the registration and hack in a new campaign than it would be to just make your own game. Scene Lua will definitely allow us to make missions completely different than the standard CC match, but it's still CC.

Re: Devlog
I hope he won't be allowing the demo versions to use custom or modified base.rte Lua. That would give more of an incentive for people to buy the game.
I think Lua will be limited so that it cannot harm the player's system or otherwise do anything damaging. I don't see why he would limit it otherwise.

Re: Devlog
As far as I know, LUA can't access external .dll's or .exe's, so I can't see how it would be harmful.

Last I checked not every file on my computer was a .dll or .exe.

I think I would test the area thing by making a spin room... A fairly large bunker room with 4 areas that each send the object flying to the next area, creating an infinite loop until the object vaporizes or falls out. Think of a giant washing machine.
