If he doesnt care and do what the public wants, he wont propably have Much DL:s. I am not saying that people want the sprites to change, but that you should listen to what peple say about sprites and the mod.

SO STFU!!! Seriously. Why don't you naysayers just keep your sayings to yourself. Stop beatin down on the man for wanting his spriting style to be different. Just go off in to someother thread and whine to them. Also: the bunker that came with this DL is sorta screwy. When I select it only a very small portion of it appears on the sceen. All of it is there when I place it but since I can only see about 10% of the sprite it makes placing the bunker rather hard.

If we aren't allowed to say that we don't like it, there's no reason that you should be able to say that you like it.

You can say you don't like it, but stop telling him to change it. I make my mods for fun, not for the downloads, clearly this guy does too.
Now hush and let the downloads download down... Load. (what the hell am I saying today?)

Re: Heavy Turret--1st mod, 2nd release
Hi, I've come to criticize the sprite of this mod(mod is excellent besides for this). Here is the problem I have with the sprite, it's simply not PRACTICAL. Light sources are not always the same, and even the picture in the first post shows how foolish it is to make the light only hitting one area on the sprite. You can look at the dropship in the image and see it's lighting is gradiented, not centered in one area. It's more realistic that way too, really. Light is constantly reflecting off of everything around you and unless you've got a direct path to the light source you're not going to have anywhere near this kind of lighting on you. Here, let me show you what I mean- Really. Light diffuses. Look at the dropship and how it's shaded.

I don't get it, other than the fact that it still looks lit under cover...but all the sprites do that, and it looks like the light's hitting it from the top, just like on the dropship.
But what can you do about dynamic shading for pixles?

Re: Heavy Turret--1st mod, 2nd release
I get it... Its quite simple The CC sprite don't really have a light shading, but it like of create a natural shade or something like that (I think). Yeah, now that you pointed out, make more sence, but he said he's thinking of make a total conversion :D If he do it right, will rock :3

Really. Light diffuses. Look at the dropship and how it's shaded. I have never met somebody in my entire life who feels the need to meticulously look for any problem he/she can find in a MOD for a 2-DIMENSIONAL game that can be played for FREE. seriously, it's a good sprite, he doesn't need to change anything.

Re: Heavy Turret--1st mod, 2nd release
Well, everyone has standards. And if he posts a mod, he has subjected it to the criticism of others. And "Good" is relative. So is "Bad". And nearly every adjective I can think of. It all depends on OPINION. You like it. I don't. Someone else says they don't like it. You start arguing. They use facts and try to explain their point. You say Quote: Who gives a crap what the public wants, it's HIS style, he likes it and so do others.... If u don't like it ok don't d/l it, but stop bitchin bout it not fittin into CC...

SO STFU!!! The public does matter. He posted it. It is now in the public. It is taking up DataRealm's space. People judge it. And show me something that didn't "Fit" and we don't point it out. Hey, at least it's better than

Re: Heavy Turret--1st mod, 2nd release
Personally, when I sprite (poorly, and I've only done weapons), I always have the light coming from the top-left, It just makes it easier to do.
I see your point, but it still doesn't look bad, it's just a little more shiny than default sprites.
