Disconnects
I'm constantly being disconnected from synirc.
I have tried using different clients. mIRC, Chatzilla, and the java one. The java one tells me I have disconnected when conversations suddenly die down, while mIRC and Chatzilla leave me to wonder if nobody is talking or I have disconnected.
Anything I can do to stop this?

Re: Disconnects
Not many people have this problem.
Hmm...>_>
I've seen you disconnect a lot.
Does your internet ever hiccup or anything?

Re: Disconnects
Get off DSL?
I dunno. It might be a firewall issue, but that's unlikely.

My internet doesn't "hiccup"
The only thing disconnecting is IRC. Everything else is normal.

Re: Disconnects
Ok, so should I forward some ports? What are the numbers?

Re: Disconnects
IRCs port is open by default. It shouldn't need to be opened. If someone has closed it, they are smart enough to keep you from opening it. For reference, IRC without SSL is 6667.
This has to be a problem with your ISP. Shitty connectivity. Call your ISP and complain about connectivity issues.

Re: Disconnects
It's not open by default if I have a router.
As I said, my connectivity is fine. IRC is the only thing with a problem.

Re: Disconnects
Other programs deal with losing connection.
IRC doesn't.

Now your parents might have closed that port, and if they were smart enough to close it, they were smart enough to keep you from reopening it. Use a server like ircatwork and see if you still get the same connectivity issues.
