It will likely not be implemented again, seeing as Wizard James removed it due to complaints.

well you can only really start that again when there is a completely new structure to mods so that there aren't a thousand waiting to be certified before yo have even begun

also the certification shouldn't be for excellent mods but for working, good offsets, no major bugs.

but also a maybe excellent rating certification could be like #approved# in the title of the mod

Just do something impromptu on the honor system, a la putting links to your favorite 3 mods in your sig. That way everyone has a say, without screwing around with an official system, and merit is judged accordingly. Though there seems to be some aversion to links in sigs...

Just rating threads might work too; you'd still have to scroll through the pages looking for mods with lots of stars, but at least you'd silence all those wanting officiality.

That seems like a great option, considering that a great mod will be received well amongst the CC community if it's good enough. It would be reliable because you can't fake a bad mod to be a good one. I can't imagine anyone respectable putting shitty mods in their signature.

<Try 1337HaxXorZ's UBer-DeThRAYZ mod! WOOT@!!#!#!$#>

Doing the above would just destroy your reputation. However, having

<Try (insert respected modder here)'s Alien actor collection, based on the art of TSR artists Brom and Larry Elmore!> (With attached nifty banner pic)

This would look very professional and establish yourself online.

The only people advocating horrible mods would be the bad mod creators, and they would be visible from a mile away with the bad grammar, etc.

The forums would sort of trim or prune themselves (Dare I say survival of the fittest?) as a sort of digital Darwin playground- what megalomaniacal bliss! (Muahahaaa...)
