Two-player only?
Hi all, I'm Swedish. (:P)
Great game, I saw it on IGF. Best one in the list I've found so far
Just fantastically fun, reminding me of a modern liero.
But is there a way to play with just one screen, fullscreen?
I'm asking because I don't know anybody who would play such an early version of a game like this in real life and also hope to get a better speed with only one screen to render.
Also, is there a way for me to try mapping for D.I.R.T?
I love mapping, no matter what game or method.
Lastly, Do you have an IRC channel where you guys hang out?
Thanks
And again, amazing what you have created.

Hi, welcome to the forum, our developer seems to have died (I see him sometimes on AIM), so Ill be answering your questions to the extent which I am authorized (read: What I know).
So,
-So far there is no way to play with just one screen, keep in mind that this is UBER beta. I imagine if you tweaked the code and twiddled a few other things you could get single screen, but then you wouldnt be able to use the other guy.
-As far as I know the mapping for DIRT is gone via picture files (dig around in the files, youll see what I mean), I am not much into coding, so I dont know what else is required.
-Again, as far as I know there is no IRC channel, theres only about three or four people who post consistently here. Mostly I use AIM.

Dear god, is it dying?
Next time you see him on AIM, tell him to get working on D.I.R.T!
Is it open source? I had no idea...
Can't find any source though
Mapping with pictures is great, I know alot of tricks for that

I dont think its dying, there were only ever a few people as far as I know. Alot registered and didnt post (as you can see, the forums have fewer topics than members.)
He usualy says hes wokring on it
And Im not entirly sure its done with pic files, its one of those wierd things involving quantum
I am most likely going to suggest he move his forums to a more active site, I was hoping he might use mine (Its got over 200 members, and is fairly active), and lots of them enjoy pointless violence like the kind offered by DIRT

Yay!
*does a happy dance*
Anyway, would you consider moving to my forum? It has a good bit of traffic going through it.

Hooray for NS junkies. I can give you a nice section near the top, a redirect to your site (The download page ) and as many forums as you want. Plus the traffic. If privacy is an issue, passwords/group-only access can be used.
And its got a friendly community. Im sure a few of them have some talent, I know for a fact that one or two are 3D modelers, though Im not sure that will help with this game.

47, thanks for the offer, but this forum was initially set up for developers of data realms projects only... it's really not a fanforum. I had it initally configured so that only the people who worked on the projects had accounts, but random ppl kept nagging me about opening it up.
So, I can see that there is need for a place for fan/enthusaist discussion for DIRT, so we're probably going to set up a separate section for that.
Thanks again, but I think we'd like to keep it all in one place for now.
