That's the main thing circling the mod I'm doing, but anyways, let me explain what I need help on.

So here is a visual explanation of what I'm trying to do.

Gun:

Muzzle Flash or sprite I want to fire:

Incredible no? But anyways, through reading the mod topics and researching and doing some trial and error myself, I'm getting pretty good with the devices codes, still a ton of stuff I don't know, and thats why I'm posting here.

So anyways, what I want to do is have the gun, fire some sort of quick impulse, and destroy everything perfectly in that sphere, and not move forward as if it were a bullet. but also, not kill the actor.

AND, an animation, preferabbly the sphere getting bigger then shrinking back.

Would it be possible to have no ammunition and then just have a muzzle flash with high mass that could hit MO's?

I've been toying with this and I can't seem to figure it out. If someone could post a piece of code or something I could work with that'd be great, or if someone would like to work with me (as in do something other than ignore my PM's) I would let you in on the full project and then give you credit for helping me code with that certain part of the pack.

But if anyone would be able to explain this to me or give me an idea on how to do this it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure how this plan will work. Is it even possible to fire a sprite that don't hit the actor? :-(

um... use this shape instead?
forgive the terrible-ness :P
also use it as a muzzle flash?... that could give you animation possibilities but idk if it would acually hurt an actor?

Two ideas come to mind...


Easy Method:
Gun fires a TDExplosive that detonates instantly, and explodes into a mass of short-lived projectiles that make a roughly circular hole.

Hard Method:
Concept based off the Medipack. Gun fires a projectile that destroys the gun. The gun in turn gibs into a perfect circle of death, including one animated MOSParticle with PinStrength for the (harmless) visual aspect.

True. I'm not sure how predictable it is to have a MOSRotating carving through the terrain, but if it works, that'd be a great way to carve weird shapes in terrain.

I'm just not going to do it...

Maybe later when there's an easier method and advances in how you can edit weapons, but I used the sprite to make a gun instead.
