   |   Mod Uploader SystemHey boys and girls, I was just contemplating a new project to pick up: Would anyone be interested in a GarrysMod.org-style uploader? You have an account, then you upload a file, attach screenshots, add a description, etc. Something like this: http://garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=17957 Would anyone be interested in moving to a system like that?

   |   Re: Mod Uploader SystemKeeps all the mods in one place. Each person can have their mods attributed to them. Probably an easier searching method than going through the whole forums. Sounds like a great idea.

   |   Re: Mod Uploader SystemIf it's on a different system it would take some load off the forums, and old mods wouldn't need to be deleted... But being able to comment on newly released mods is a very big (and indispensable) plus, so it would be preferable to have both.

   |   Re: Mod Uploader SystemThis shouldn't be that hard to do with PHP and MySQL . Maybe even merge it with a Mod Downloader program .

   |   Re: Mod Uploader SystemI think it would be cooler to have a mod downloader program, such as in the Falling Sand games. You could start CC, check the mod database, see something you like, download and install it, and then in the menu, reload the RTE files so your new mod(s) would take effect.

   |   Re: Mod Uploader SystemYou mean like in Wxsand.
Personally, I never used the feature in the game. But, then again, I never download user created mods if they're something I can do myself.

But, the problem with the Wxsand Download from Wiki feature is that it relies on very precise formatting, and, we'd need a wiki to do it.

Something where people can create topics, and random people can't ♥♥♥♥ them up. So just downloading off the forum wouldn't work.

   |   Re: Mod Uploader SystemYou just setup a Database structure and then so will people Upload to the database. (Preferably through PHP) It would not be so hard to do if someone put some effort in it .Example MySQL Datastructure:dbname: cortexcommandTable: modsid mod_name
 mod_size
 mod_pathTable:
  usersid name
 password (md5 hash)
 comment

   |   Re: Mod Uploader SystemI know how I want to do it.
All I'm doing is asking if people would use it so I'm not wasting my time.

   |   Re: Mod Uploader SystemReally? People want to hear if the Mods are good . They must check the forums for that anyway .

   |   Re: Mod Uploader SystemDam dont ditract me too look at Gmod mods again.
Although I like the idea and would use it if I ever made a mod, I expect a good number of people would just use the forum for laziness or formatting.

How in the ♥♥♥♥ do you not know how to spell damn? Back on topic, I would use it, but it would be a bit awkward. CC modding has slowed down, it seems, since B14 was released.
