Post Coetex Command Mission Idea
Just as a note I know that this does not fit into the CC universe but it is still pretty cool.

You first start off in a large hotel. A TV report comes on in a cut scene (your character did not watch it A news report comes on; the news lady says “Everyone who is in the surrounding area of the metropolitan beach , I urge you all to go to the highest point you can go, there have been reports of large tsunamis heading your way!” You wake up in the morning and all of the hotel and surroundings are completely silent, all cars on the roads have been abandoned.

You hear a TV voice coming from the top floor. The objective at the moment is too getting to the highest floor, when you arrive up the top you notice the water on the beach creeping away from the coast. One person is in the top room floor. You ask the hotel room guest if you can stay in the room, a small man in a green armor replies “yes”. As you look around the room you find some boxes of food. You ask the small man in green “what’s going on here?” “the ocean is coming back!”, said the man in green. You look out the window and you see a large moving wall of water, you instantly realize it is a tsunami.

The wave hits the coast line, one hundred meters from the hotel, less than a second later the wave strikes the hotel. You notice from looking out the window there are more waves coming. “that was just the start of it”, said the man in green. One wave damaged the hotel nearly to the point of collapsing. From the height of the next wave it looks like it is kilometers away. The man in green brings his headsets speaker to mouth level and says “requesting evac, i repeat requesting evac!” You realize that the green man is not a hotel guest, but part of an army. “you want to get out of here?” Said the green man. You said “yes”.

Your new objective is to run to the window and await for the choper. But before it comes another tsunami wave strikes the hotel, you and the green man both jump out of the window because that is the only chance of survival. You jump into the tsunami wave water and you swin onto a platform, dodging some of the wreckage in the water. Ten seconds later a hover craft hovers next to the platform. The green man runs and jumps through onto the drop ship and says “you coming, if you are hurry up”. You jump for your life into the drop ship. The wave hit the hotel and made it collapse moments after, it misses the drop ship by a inch.

A cut scene follows the wave rushing through the town (fluid physics), no survivors are visible.

Mission 1 completed

Wow alot of text :-P

Jess ! You're a genius :D.

Nah, but really. The idea of Cortex Command is that they're on an alien planet and are warring against other brains for rights to mine gold. So, the escape the building scenario doesn't exactly fit in with the grand idea of Cortex Command - though if you're any good with Half Life 2 modding, it'd be wicked cool :). They actualy have reactive water ... and gibbable buildings ...

If by reactive you mean fluid water then yes there is a mod for that but any more then a gallon of water and your computer will crash and just shut off from all the calculations. (No seriously I've had it happen before)

I don't mean fluid water, I just mean water that ... exists :D. Or, at the very least, a reasonable attempt at making the water look half-way decent.

So, I'm talking Lost Cove (level in HL2, right?) style water - not full out fluid dynamics simulation.

The destroyable building parts are mostly animated debris models and explosions, there is very little in the way of actual physics calculated debris. Also, unless you're referring to a mod, HL2 has no reactive water.

... I think we've already determined that by 'reactive' water, I mean a reasonable simulation of the wonderous liquid à la Lost Coast level of HL2.

Buildings don't crumple in Cortex Command either : the only way to do that would be to somehow make a building out of an actor or drop-ship, but that's terribly unreliable and often damages both parties.
