What in the ♥♥♥♥ people, Hamachi takes 2 seconds to set up and it makes.... NETPLAY! HAHAHAHAHA THAT WAS HARD PRESSING NEXT TWICE THEN PRESSING CONNECT AND TYPING IN A SERVERNAME. seriously, lan IS netplay with hamachi.

AI would be best to have first.
LAN would be alot easier to include then Internet Play. Plus I doubt it would even keep up without lag, pixel physics would really push the lag up.

I disagree, hamachi could be used to provide simple Lan-over-internet play, which I'd love to do with my friends, even if it did lag slightly it would still be incredible.

I think the AI solution is more easily found (or is at least further developed), as far as we have been told.
Based on current builds, Netplay or LAN functionality would have to be built from the ground up, whereas AI functionality already has a basis and can be built upon instead of from scratch.
For the sake of simple, rational design practices--Data should finish the AI first.

You obviously ignored the opening then, this is not "WHATS MORE CONVENIENT" so really how far it is along should have no count. The entire idea is what would you like more.

Re: What should be implented first, smart AI, or LAN compatibilt
It has a lot of bearing.
I would prefer a game that has complete (meaning, is easier for Data to finish), bug-free features than a game that has tons of features that are not completely and properly implemented. That being said, I would prefer functional, intelligent AI that are able to navigate properly and use their JPs offensively. The fact that the AI system has already been started would make completing this goal much easier.
Besides, if there is a decent AI system that doesn't challenge you by being quasi-overwhelming--I personally feel that is preferable than playing with some of the retards on this forum.
Finish one project before the other, Data, please.

ChJees wrote: All i want is the Campaign so i can play through the storyline... And AI . Exactly. A robust AI scheme combined with a solid campaign will be 20x more fun than playing with most of the 'tards on this forum. Just so happens that the AI is further along than network (LAN or net) play.

there is a possibility that there will never bee lan I dont think we should get our hopes up about it because that is a difficult problem.

Re: What should be implented first, smart AI, or LAN compatibilt
Pretty much every RTS and FPS that has come in the last ten years out has had a LAN feature, even if the game was never fully intended to be multiplayer. I think Data will do it soon enough, but good A.I. makes the game fun if you have no friends

Re: What should be implented first, smart AI, or LAN compatibilt
I imagine if Data could make LAN and it would take him just as long as it would to make better AI, he would do the AI first.
And I would prefer the AI aswell.

Re: What should be implented first, smart AI, or LAN compatibilt
I'd like smart AI, since I can play Multiplayer on the same computer with my friends. Yeah you can screenwatch, but still, it's not a big deal. In fact, its good because otherwise you'd just sneak in and kill all their actors when they are controlling a different one. Good AI would mean I can play VS or Co-op with my friends.
I'd still like to see Internet/LAN play though.
