360 controller bombs
I was curious ever since I saw that connect button on the top of the Xbox 360 controller. It's right next to the left bumper. Seriously what is it? Every time I press it lights spin around in circles and do nothing. I'm afraid it's going to explode when I press that button. I realize it has to do with wireless connection, but every time I turn the controller on it automatically connects to the console. I have the feeling it has something to do with explosions, tear gas, flash bangs, smoke grenades, incendiary explosions, or shrapnel. Anyway, I would like to know what in God's name that useless button does.

It's for synching with consoles. There's a similar button on the front of the 360.

I know there's one on the face plate, but honestly I've pressed that button a thousand times in all sorts of circumstances and had no results.

Oh, I see what you mean. Kind of like with remotes.

Re: 360 controller bombs
Yes, all current-gen wireless controllers do this. Last gen consoles with aftermarket wireless would have a selection of short range radio bands that you set the console and controller units to use.
