a store-bought one?, i think you need to use a CD for installation of the drivers, or you just plug it in, and make windows recognize it, then calibrate it through control panel, then start up CC, and set it to gamepad, and configure through there, and your done.

same for a 360 controller.

I have one of those dual joy box or whatever this particular USB to playstation adapter is called, and the most luck I have had is to plug it in, no driver, and set up the controls in CC using "D-PAD" and not "dual shock"

I did this is because I can't get the analog sticks to work with this controller at all. It works well enough though.

Hope you get it.

I use a gamester, a very sexy ps2 controller. You just need an adapter.

Did you turn on the analog button? When you actually play PS2 thats typically handled for you. I forgot to do it and wondered for the longest time why it wouldn't work. Then I pressed it and was like "oh."

Still, I actually like normal controller mode better. Still, at least in my case, I have to have the analog button on to avoid a weird problem where the character aims straight up or down whenever you press left or right.

Yep, I use the ps2 controller. It's pretty good once you get used to it, but then again, everything is good once you get used to it.
