Hi, I'm new to the forum and the game, and I'm having trouble finding out how to play CC. I read the unofficial guide but that didn't really help. If anyone can answer some of my questions, please do.
1. What does the rocket looking thing do, and how do I use it?
2. After my unit is killed, how do I get a new one?
3. When my unit is killed, I usually push a bunch of different buttons until a menu comes up, I don't see a cursor when I try to hover my mouse over it. What is that menu and how do I use it?
4. How do I add mods into the game?

That's all the questions I have, thanks for reading.

1. The rocket is.. Well.. A rocket. If you press up the rocket engines fire, hold down up until it's gone. Then you can continue with a little extra money for returning the rocket.
2. Normally you can just buy a new one, but if there is still something else alive (like the rocket) then it will select that unit.
3. You use the arrow keys and click when you are on the selection you want. Mess around with the menu first, find out where everything is.
4. You'll need winrar.

1. Download the mod.
2. Extract it with winrar.
3. Put it in the cortex command folder.

Some mods use different instructions but this is the normal way.


Also, if you want to go to the buy menu while someone is alive. Press the 2 selection buttons at the same time.

Thanks for the help .When I try to shoot the rocket straight up, it topples over and I can't move it from that spot.

Edit: Does it matter where I extract it to in the folder?

You are supposed to hold on to the button to make it fly. Try improvising next time, buddy.

Yes, you have to put it right in the Cortex Command folder.

Extract it to the Cortex command folder. Right in there. Not Base.rte though.

And.. Yeah.. You are supposed to hold it down. I can see you are very new to this game.

Also, is there an easier way to buy things other than hovering your mouse all over the menu trying to get what you want?

Try using the directional keys.

Edit: I have it all figure out now, except just one thing. I don't know where to find the metal slug suit that I added in.

Press the "Fire" key (H by default in Keyboard control, right mouse button click in Keyboard + Mouse). When you want to buy, press the right directional key a couple times until you highlight the "Buy" button, then press Fire and wait 3 seconds for your troops/whatever you ordered to arrive

Oh, the metal slug armor is in Actors I think. If it doesn't let you buy it, you don't have enough gold!
