System requirements
Hello. I have a question about Cortex Command.. The game looks fantastic from the screenshots, but when I tried to play it, it was so slow I could barely walk around. I do have a rather old computer (500mhz pentium 3 with 192mb ram and 8mb video memory) so I tried playing it in a friend's newer PC. It had 1300mhz cpu, 256mb ram and 32mb video, yet the game still ran very slow.
So.. ¿what are the approximate system requirements for this game? when you look at the screenshots it isn't obvious that they will be so high... I don't have problems playing warcraft 3, unreal tournament, half life 1, etc. (at minimum graphics settings of course, but completely playable) in my 500mhz pentium..
Thanks in advance for your response!

The game is quite processor-hungry, since as of now it doesn't use graphics cards. So the problem is your processor; I have a P4 3.20 GHz and it runs quite well, unless in very big maps or when using laggy weapons.

Actually, its because of the ridiculously low amount of RAM his computer has. Sounds like its time for a ram upgrade, amigo.
From my experience, a processor clocked at levels exceeding 1.0GHz is preferable. Also, 512MB of RAM is also preferable (but you can never have too much ).

Oh shi-- 32MB video?
Who cares if CC doesn't utilize hardware acceleration. That right there is the problem.

Thank you all for responding. I hope that by the time when the game is finally released, I will get to upgrade my system (or perhaps the final game becomes a little faster).
I wonder how much RAM my computer can handle. Or maybe I need a new PC.

Build 14 is using some new physics processes, which haven't yet been refined, so perhaps we might see a speed increase in B15, but you can build a system capable of running the game smoothly for just a few hundred.
