Marshian Military 20.03.09
Marshians are a race of small, green-skinned humanoids that tend to greet everyone they meet with aggression, and quite often kill them. This has resulted in most of them living as mercenaries to avoid any social communication with others. Actors: Marshians themselves are rather weak physically, but their sodiers have numerous robotic enhancements to overcome these weaknesses. As a result they are more agile and have faster reflexes than most of the other soldiers available. They also have superior jetpack technology. L-Recon: A lightly armoured recon unit that is best used as a sniper. It's jetpack is powerful but tends to explode some times. Cost 95 oz. H-Assault: A more heavily armoured front line soldier. Costs 120 oz. H-Defender: A heavily armoured but clumsy unit suited best for defence. Costs 140 oz. Commander: A metal brain case mounted on a H-defender body. Costs 150 oz. Guns: Transports: Teleport beacon: A locator beacon that is dropped from orbit and activates when it hits the ground, teleporting the ordered stuff into its place and itself back to the shop it was ordered from. Only downside is that larger actors tend to implode or get stuck in the ground upon arrival, and that it's a rather noisy way of arriving. Costs 50 oz. DS-Mk1: Your basic dropship, it deliver stuff quick and safe. Costs 120 oz. Rckt-Mk1: A cheap but unsteady delivery method. Costs 50 oz. D-Mk1: A small transport drone, handy for small-scale bombardment. Can be flown into enemy bunkers for surgical suicidal strikes.

Re: Marshian Military
The gun sprites aren't so bad, but the shield looks exactly like the vanilla one.

Yeah, sprites aren't too bad, but they're pretty plain and unimaginitive. And it's spelt Martians.

Re: Marshian Military
I am not completely sure, but I think anyone from a planet called Marsh should be called a marshian. The mod is quite simple, but I think it's pretty nice for a first release... Just be sure to expand it a bit.

I can't see the images from this computer, so the only criticism I can offer is that you repeatedly call it a "clip" when you should be saying "magazine".

Re: Marshian Military
Quote: The Marshians were at first a peace loving race of small and silly-looking persons living on the distant and equally small planet Marsh. Quote: the distant and equally small planet Marsh. Yes, I do believe in this case it is Marshians. Not a bad mod, but not a great mod. The sprites are acceptable but uninspired, and the guns have been done before. It's still a decent mod, though, so keep working on it. Most great mods start nowhere near as great as they are currently. See: Pelian Army.

Re: Marshian Military
The offhand offsets for the Antitank rifle needs fixing and a Marshian rocket would be a nice addition. Otherwise, I'd say it's an alright mod.

Re: Marshian Military
The assault rifle looks way too puny forward of the receiver, like a grease gun or something. Maybe beef it up a bit?

Jehutus wrote: I like it! it's unique As unique as any other mod. The walkpaths seem a bit off, at least, they don't really flow well. The soldiers are ok, but I would suggest making them slimmer if you're going to make them small. Fat-bellied actors are a nuisance. The guns are ok too, just not very original.

Re: Marshian Military
How about Marsh Co.? A corporation dedicated to retrieving rare minerals and artifacts from subterranean dangerous environments.

Re: Marshian Military
I've finally worked out what's wrong with your sprites: the shape.
They're too curvy and lumpy, they need to be neater and less like putty-men.
