Auto Disarming System (Base Defence)
So this is my mod which I submitted for the mod contest under the theme "base defence". Since that seems to have lost steam, I'm submitting it here. The basic idea is that an enemy sees and shoots the post. The resulting wound sends a powerful focused blast back at the gun, destroying the gun but not the actor. The actor may be harmed, but only in rare cases will it be killed. And frankly, no-one's complaining. The post can be destroyed by blunt trauma or by knocking it over, but bullets are more or less harmless. This is, as far as I am aware, a completely unique defence mod in that the enemies are not killed. The post is completely automated, you can't even control it. Hope you guys enjoy it, I think it is reasonably balanced. Just to say, I'm not officially back. I am in the midst of my GCSEs and frankly, I'm in the ♥♥♥♥. EDIT: Group fixed.

Ah, Blipflip, I can't remember you making a non-inventive mod. And I don't want to, so no one remind me.

Re: Auto Disarming System (Base Defence)
This is pretty much a fancy version of the SWM turret from B9, but made accurate and fast to hit the gun that shoots it.
Good to see that back around.

Very cool. Could this be mounted on the back of a crab?

Re: Auto Disarming System (Base Defence)
This is very new and cool. Wish I could do stuff like this. EDIT: Quote: Could this be mounted on the back of a crab? Quite easily. Although I don't know how to do it I have seen several crab-dreadnought combos where you could just replace the dreadnought part with the post from this mod. I think...

Re: Auto Disarming System (Base Defence)
I remember this technique.
I was also going to make something for the competition that disarms enemy troops.
Basically an emitter from the ceiling that destroyed the gun.
It was the combine weapon stripper, but as you may know, combine have a violent tendency to be very violent = Exploding clones.
But this is a much better implementation of it. Good job.

Well, this kind of thing has been known for a while, but nobody used it. This is good. First I thought that it would just push the weapon away with bullets with high mass. blipflip wrote: no-one's complaining. Better change that to "nobody". Before comes.

Re: Auto Disarming System (Base Defence)
This tends to consistently knock the weapon from a bot's hands, by slaughtering it.
If I had the ability to post a .gif, I'd show how this can humourously be used in conjunction with the plasma shield mod to send an infinite stream of death towards the enemy. It's amusing to say the least.
I managaed to kill a disarmer at the expense of a unit by plunging a ligthsabre straight into it. Death from above with a KGB bot. A mod to fight another mod as it were.
Not a bad idea over all. Giving it visible health for the sake of convenience might be a good idea.
It's workable as is, but refining the concept further would also be more rewarding.
