Cadpat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CADPAT

I think it works better than MARPAT.

Ha, this topic is really random. I think the CADPAT looks better. Also, those patches on that guy's uniform look really really cheap. Like velcro or something. Is that what our Army is wearing these days? How embarassing...

Both looks very ugly, of course, in my opinion...

I never saw the point of camouflage clothing.
It leaves your face, feet, gun and hands stupidly visible and you have to change it when you leave the specific area it's designed for.

Just cover yourself in some dirt and grass and BAM! Instant realistic camouflage.

Also, metamaterial fiber is the way to go. Even though it hasn't been fully developed yet.

Prefer the Stealth Camo Device, or The Octocamo.

You mean ghillie? I think the idea behind camouflaged uniforms is not to completely conceal, like a ghillie suit is. They're just meant to make soldiers much harder to spot both on the field and from the air, especially in low light conditions.

Aaah, that's how you spell it. I edited it. And yeah, ghillie suits are more for all out invisibility.

ACU and MARPAT look too similar in those pics for me to decide. You usually can't spot something like someone's face or hands so easily from afar, so they don't really need the camo, unless if you are going all undercover, like hiding in the jungle with a knife, waiting to slash a Colombian, or if you're Rambo, a VC.

I can't wait for some sort of active camouflage. No, I don't (necessarily) mean a Halo style cloak thing. What we have now is passive camouflage, it just sits there, and it's pattern is what does the hiding. What I want is something that adapts to it's environment. I'm sure it's not that complicated. Say, chameleon tanks. Some sort of membrane or outright display that changes color and texture with the surrounding terrain. That is gonna be cool.
