BIOSHOCK
I'm both surprised and slightly ashamed that there isn't a bioshock thread. Or... you know... I didn't really search or anything...
Anywhoo... I'm sure you all have seen screenshots/videos and the like, and there's a demo on XBox Marketplace. It's coming out on the 21st but Toys R Us released it early by accident so a few people already have it.
So, why don't we go ahead and discuss?
I played the demo and I thought that it just worked well. The demo really didn't show you the highlights of the final game (tech trees, 70 different plasmids, customize weapons etc.) but it played extremeley well.

Re: BIOSHOCK
I had high hopes for the game, but I didn't expect it to pull a 99% on GameRankings. Looks like the SS2 team still has it. I'll have to pick it up once I get a capable system.

Re: BIOSHOCK
guys I'm gonna download it for the Pc because I don't have an Xbox 360. I was wondering if my graphics card is good enough for this game. they say you need a NVIDIA 6600 or better/ATI X1300 or better, excluding ATI X1550 I have a Nvidia GeForce 6800 Xtreme with 1.5 gig ram. Is that good enough?

Re: BIOSHOCK
6800 > 6600, therefore, I would assume so.

Re: BIOSHOCK
Collectors edition is my main goal for this game. I cannot wait for November however, the big month of the year.

I don't really see how this game is so much better than all the others... I mean, sure, it's sorta shiny. I've seen better. And It's got that sluggish control that feels kinda like COD games. Of which I own none. I might buy it if I have enough money left over from everything else that is a highre priority on my list.

Quite possibly the best AI EVER. 2. Engaging story. 3. Extremely amazing water effects. 4. Not relying on online play (that gives it epic win, only FPS in the last 5 years to not rely on multiplayer)

I give that one to you, but only because it's a semi-steampunk 1960's era storyline. You can't lose with that. 3. The water looks nice, but it's not actually dynamic water. It's still very good, though. 4. Wasn't aware of online play, but that's not what I would be playing it for anyways. 5. I've played through the demo twice. There are still about 6-7 games that are higher than it on my buy-list.

Next gen terms actually.

Re: BIOSHOCK
Hey Tim? There isn't any online play, it's just single player. My only trifle with the game is that, (At least in the demo...) The physics seemed to have a frame rate separate to that of the game itself. They seemed a little slow and jittery. Still, nothing beats zapping a fool, casually walking up to them, and placing your revolver flat against their nose while they scream incoherently... I CAN HAS PREORDER? YES I CANS.

Re: BIOSHOCK
My real major problem with the game is that there seems to be like a total of 4 different enemies. At least, I haven't seen any others. It feels like you're just going to go through the whole city fighting mutated guys with party masks who are trying to kill you with the exact same pipe. I mean sure, some of them get wrenches and crowbars, through in the odd Big Daddy as a boss fight, but it doesn't sound like much else. Even in videos of later parts of the game where you have some large complicated rocket launcher, they're still fighting the same guy.

The way you described it made it sound like Condemned: Criminal Origins. But really, it's not like they'll give you a view of every single pixel in the game. You just have to play and explore.
