How'd you make it? Did you just tie a bunch of sparklers together, light 'em and hoped they didn't detonate while you were there?

12 sparklers? Weak.
Me and my friend put together atleast 500 together and lit it with a blow torch. Now that was epic. On my honor, the explosion was like a pillar of fire. Seriously, atleast 4-5 men high.

How did you make it, or rather, keep it from exploding as soon as it was lit?

you take a few sparklers ( or if you want a slow burning inferno 500) if you want an explosion about 10-50 and you put them all alighned together so they are all facing the same direction you then pull the middle one out a few inches and you use electrical tape to bind them together VERY TIGHTLY when its done you light the sparkler sticking out and run off somewhere to watch. Its really loud the camera makes it sound quite I guarantee you could hear it half way across town =)

EDIT : sorry about the extra sparkler going horizontal across it ignore that the main out got chipped away all the way around making it an improper fuse

Not sure exactly, we just put the blow torch full blast and flamed 1 end, and then ran for it. BAM. Giant pillar of fire. Be carefull if you try this though, searing hot pieces of crap stay on the ground for a while, my friend burnt his hand.

By the way. I made a diagram. Not trying to show off by the way, but it was pretty epic.

Oh, and CoilGunner, sorry to jack your thread. I did invent the phrase. :'D

Sweeeet. I gotta get some sparklers and make one. Ohh, perfect spot, too- there are railroad tracks right behind my house, so no risk of fire.
Or, I guess I could just hose down the lawn before setting it off.
