Post TMJ, jaw locking and popping, etc.
My jaw sort of pops if I chew a certain way(Which is the way I chew). It like gets hard to move and I know if I force it to continue to open after I chew up and try to chew down it'll pop. I hate the pop. It sort-of hurts a little, but that's just in my mind because I think something bad is happening to my jaw. What's wrong guyz? I noticed it one day while eating dinner a week or two ago.

My uncle is a X-ray specialist(big bux) and said something about a TMJ, Temporal manditory joint or something. It didn't sound like he was worried, BUT IT'S NOT GONE AWAY GUYZ.

Wuts wrong with mah jaw :(

Regular bouts of flame from the mouth (usually caused by shouting during heated forum flaming sessions) are known to penetrate the asbestos covering of the mouth. This is generally harmless, but particularly severe, long, or just plain high-quality flames can potentially incinerate a part of your jaw or make your joints looser, often resulting in pops or scraping. Though medical treatment is available for regrowing bones (though it be a long, painful process, involving Something Awful that tastes nothing like pumpkin juice), most so-called "victims" choose to freak out younger siblings or, lacking that, cousins at family gatherings through unexpected pops or uncomfortable scraping sounds when cutting their turkey or when positioned directly behind and a bit to the side of the true victims head, so as to allow for the best reception of the sound. When faced with this opportunity, most people simply refuse medical treatment, though particularly oppurtunistic individuals can seek to amplify the audio effect through modern surgical procedures. This is not reccomended, as a sudden pop once caused the unfortunate end of a patient due to a startled surgeon with a rather sharp Instrument of Surgical Destruction.

In other news, I occasionally have an uncomfortable scraping sensation, and an occasional pop, but it's always just a little thing that I don't feel particularly threatened by.

I hate the goddamn search on that stupid comic, theu need to have someone go back and make it so teh titles work, and so that comic shows up for searches on VG, Vitamin, Teeth, etc.

I had to find it BY HAND.

Anyways, I would assume your jaw got lossened or something.

But this isn't an occasional scraping(Wut? I don't have any scraping..) or pop. This is a pop EVERY time in the SAME spot under and infront of my right ear. Whenever chewing something it occurs.

LOL FLAMING FROM MOUTH. Also I have no scraping sensation. At all. Just popping.

It's probably just some sort of thing where it's not in the joint properly.

Either cross your fingers and run cheek-first into a concrete wall, go for the more direct hammer-and-chisel method, or go to a professional and hope they say "yes."

I can do the same. It's just natural when your jaw gets worked into a certain way. No way to fix it I believe, but you could see a dentist.

You can do it. I have no choice but to do it every single time I chew. EVERY time. Or if I don't, I simply can't fully open my mouth to repeat chewing etc.

I know exactly what you mean. I have that area too, but my jaw never pops into it. It's a peaceful co-existance. Do you hear a crackle in your ears when you move your jaw over there?

My jaw occasionally does that, and it hurts. I think its an issue with bone growth

Also, I get that crackling noise, but my ENT said that is a symptom of pressure differentials in your inner ear, not a jaw problem.

No but when I do that it locks it and I have to pop it. Bone growth lool. I may not be 21 but ♥♥♥♥ should have pretty much halted by now.

That happened to me too, I got punched in the face cuz I'm a jerk like that, and it popped whenever I chewed for a while.
Give it some time, it usually goes away.

Since I was in maybe third grade I've compulsively tried for kinetic symmetry - that is, if I move my left arm a certain amount, I try to move my right arm the exact same amount, and if there's any overflow I have to compensate with my left - etc. My jaw always feels unbalanced, and I'm always twisting it; I feel it won't go far enough in some directions. While doing this, I often pop it, sometimes followed by the scraping sensation and sometimes not. I then try to pop the other side but inevitably fail. I spend a half hour or so sometimes punching myself hard in the side of the jaw to try and straighten it.
Hm.

The last time I had a problem with my teeth it was when I had this really odd lump underneath my tongue. It didn't hurt, or make noises, but every time I moved my tongue I would feel that little lump. and even when I kept the tongue still, it rested on the lump. It went away but it was really annoying.

Go see your dentist or a doctor.
