Amusing, TRUE tales that happened while sleeping
Might I direct your attention, if only briefly, to this forum thread, all of which is 100% truth, lest the forum be deprived of such funniness: http://forum.deviantart.com/devart/general/870014/.
Please read the embedded link, as well.
Cheers,

EDIT: In a desperate bid to draw in comments, here is my own story about such things:
I myself have fallen asleep during a game of Laser Tag, or was it paintball? I think it was paintball. Anyway, I had just had exams and I hadn't slept for three days straight and, get this, I nodded off during play! And this is just... weird, I continued to shoot and take cover while asleep.
I woke up a little bit taking cover behind a tree with significantly less ammo than before my in-combat siesta.
Ah, good times.

I once fell asleep while playing Halo, when I woke up I found a few odd things.
A. I had a (melting) chocolate bar in my hand with the wrapper ripped off.
B. I was in bed.
C. When I went downstairs I found that the Xbox was still on, and I had paused it. On un-pausing it I found I had started playing the library on legendary in my sleep. And for some reason I was looking at a wall. I guess I just hit random buttons and ended up running into a wall or something.

I woke up one night to find that I had gotten out of bed, walked over to my desk, grabbed a pen and a pad of paper and started to write down dot points for a short story. I woke up with the pad in my hand and the pen stopped mid-word (the word was, "the").
This was how the story "Rebirth" was conceived. (Tee hee, a pun! XD)
Strange but true, read it on my DA page.
Ah, hell. I'll do it me self. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/44426687/

Ha hah! That's funny.
It's amazing the things man can do while under the veil of sleep.

It really isn't sleep, per se. It's more microsleep, where you are unaware of events for a good 5 seconds to 30 minutes. It can also be short-term memory loss, so you only thought you slept. I'd guess the latter.
Seriously, go to bed sometime. I don't think I've ever fallen asleep away from my bed, nor woken up out of my bed.

You raise an interesting point, and a viable one at that.
And for your information, I get around 7-9 hours of sleep each night.

also not quite the same but I frequently dream i've got something fantastic like a fancy car or something and then wake up believing it only to be hugely dissapointed.
Or I dream that I've just gotten ready for work or Uni and made the 45 minute walk there, and then wake up to realise I have to do it all over again!
Right, time for sleep, gotta catch a train in the morning, be back in a week, bye guys!
