Ninjam and the Data Realms Band: The Reawakening
Sup. Me and Nfsjunkie91 got together this morning and screwed around with Ninjam, which allows you to musically collaborate over the internet. I'll post some of the stuff we did, but unfortunately it may take a while, as Ninjam records 4 second bursts of your sessions. This may take a while to paste together. In any case, this thread is reserved for discussion concerning Ninjam and "applying" for the band. Right now, we don't really have any set schedule and it's kinda "Get IIRC and see if anyone wants to play." If you do play an instrument and have a microphone, you're welcome to join. I can also help you if you have a keyboard with a MIDI interface and MIDI cables. We are also trying to get a private server so we won't have to run into people like the drunken mexican Argentina man. Current "Members" of the Band CherryT - Keyboardist, and hopefully vocals soon Nfsjunkie91 - Some keyboards, some guitar, drums?, vocals Works: Short cover of Viva La Vida (CherryT - Strings, Nfsjunkie - Acoustic Guitar and vocals, some other random people on Ninjam): Will appear here and attempted cutting and pasting in progress.Probably better sounding and appropriately mixed music here: http://www.box.net/shared/tubsqeme2k

It's times like these I hate having a shitty computer mic.
I could sing and do piano. I play a kickin' piano.

Don't have a mic, or a functional one anyways.

Rendering Ogg of the preliminary Viva La Vida. We sound like we're stoned. I wasn't. It's primarily because we weren't playing to the right tempo and Nfs had to sing really slow.
EDIT: Uploading.

Apocalyptica anyone? Violas are better. But I have not practiced for several months... Cellos are best. And though I like Apocalyptica, I dislike rhythm and vocals as a rule, making most of their recent songs rather uninteresting. I also dislike distortion, making virtually all of their songs disinteresting. Their cover of One is all I ever liked, and even then, I only like the first half or so. Yes, I am a staunchly classical musician. And more on-topic, I can't wait to see what you guys come up with. No, seriously.

You might like parts of the Reflections album. Not too much distortion, and there are vocals on just 2 songs. I agree that their new stuff is not what I listen to them for.
Maybe you guys should find a good editing program so you can balance out the dynamics some. If it's not possible to actually play at the right volume with ninjam.
