Post Lucidity (A Text Based Interactive ForumAdventure of Yore)
It's like Zork, except much less strict in giving orders. I will try to compete with Cinos in his imaged-based adventures with descriptive language, but I don't have any idea where this will go, for better or worse but if anyone wants to illustrate this, please go ahead (I'm not much of an artist). . This story will be entirely stream-of-consciousness (nothing planned or premeditated).
A voice speaks to you:
The Voice wrote:
What is the world but what we make it?
Nothing but electricity in our brains.
A rose which never smelled so sweetly,
Though we never knew its name.
To rise where others have fallen...
To take thy name as truth,
The plain white door awaits you...
In that realm of youth.

While you slumber sweetly,
under the dark night sky...
Remember one thing only...
It's coming. You will die.
But you have the power,
the strength, the will, the mind...
To enter the state of lucidity,
Seeing clearly space and time...

So don't hesitate to try,
Please reach out your hand.
And save mankind from destruction...
Open the door, you destined man.

The sound of millions screaming blasts your eardrum. A darkness envelops you. It is something palpable, and yet, something not. You try to join the screaming legion, but are unable to. The ghostly darkness crawls down your throat, taking the place of air in your lungs. You choke and are slowly dying...

You wake up in a sweat and glance at your digital clock at the bedside. It reads 2:32 AM. You fall back to into a restless sleep.

You perceive a white door in front of you.
EDIT: Thanks Cinos, lol.

Trust me, you don't want me to draw pictures for this. I fail, epically.

Go away to some other CYOA, like War of the Factions or whatever. I don't want another CYOA with so much potentional to be destroyed by stupid comments like this.

Cherry: Walk towards the door slowly.

Is the door open or closed?
If it's closed, walk up and open it.

Forgot to mention: I will take up to 5 of the most recent orders to progress the story unless the most recent posts are against doing the actions in the 4/3/2 preceding posts.
Quote:
Feel around you for a light switch to turn on.

Why would you turn on a light when the white door is perfectly in view? It also seems very dark around you in comparison to the door. There is a pure white light illuminating the area around you from under the door.
The darkness seems to close in on you.
Quote:
Get eaten by a grue before the lights are turned on.

Hmm... Grues could be around...
If you walked backwards into the darkness, there's a high likelihood that you would be eaten by one.
Still the darkness gets closer.
Quote:
Fight off the evil Metrocops of Nightmare, and wake up.

What Metrocops?
You hear radio crackling behind you. You also hear the distinctive loud electric shock of a stunstick being warmed up.
Erm... never mind. You better find a way out of here.
The darkness creeps closer. The door seems to shrink.
Quote:
Walk towards the door slowly.

You slink away from the darkness towards the white door.
Every step seems to slow time ever more, but you finally reach the door.
A stunstick crackles behind you.
Quote:
Is the door open or closed?
If it's closed, walk up and open it.

The door is closed... you try to open it.
Just as you're about to touch the knob, thousands of images flood your head... You catch a few...:

The girl you never had a chance to date...
The coffee cake you ate that morning in some clean, white facility...
Somebody's hand holding a pick... scaling a mountain.
A man in a suit.
A car crash... the passenger impaled by a large piece of glass...
A man in a suit.
A cherub flying from a huge bath of fire.
A white door.
A man in a suit.
A man in a suit adjusting his tie... walking away.

Your mind slows and you realize that the door has disappeared. You are all alone in a place that is dark but in which you can see, paradoxically.

Suddenly, you perceive a voice from somewhere you cannot see or feel in this realm.
You catch snatches of a conversation. Somebody is screaming:
"His brainwaves are reaching a dangerous level! What is going on?"
"*mumbling*"
"Get him out of there! He could be risking his *mumble*... *mumble mumble* delta program!"

Suddenly, a pure tone resonates within you. The world wavers, disappears. You feel as though you are being pulled by the head through a tunnel. Wind rushes around you...

You perceive warmth, a red light behind closed eyelids, smells of... cleanliness. Your body is still.

A womanly voice speaks: "Are you O.K.?"

Open your eyes, if they aren't already.

Then, seeing as I assume you don't know what all that delta level brainwaves ♥♥♥♥ is all about, say you have amnesia and have forgotten what the experiment was.

Also, who IS the main character?

Do we have a name, or life details?

If not, add that to the amnesia pile.
