Wait, I didn't know that Fallout 3 could have mods. I thought that Bethesda failed to include the tools necessary to do so due to legal problems.

Where did you hear that? The reasons that Bethesda has given multiple times was due to time contraints, and that they were HOPING to possibly release the mod editor at some later time. Also, there are already mods for the game, just nothing besides new weapons and reskins, plus some cool sound mods.

This game is horrible. Don't even think about purchasing it until it is patched. Crashes every time a load screen comes up for me. And now it crashes every time I get to level 4.

Don't say It's horrible just because it crashes for you. Seeing as you're the only one here with that problem I doubt It;s Bethesda's fault

The ONLY time it crashes for me is my own fault. My 8800GT is unstable and locks up occasionally. It always recovers, but not before the game locks up. (Oddly enough, source games just turn black and then come back.)

From what I remember (and I can probably look it up if you don't believe me), Bethesda wasn't planning to release mod tools because they got hit hard the last time when the ESRB changed Oblivion's rating to M after someone released a mod granting nude textures. Admittedly, I'm not sure if it's likely that a mod will somehow push Fallout 3's rating to AO, but stranger things have happened. Even if it wouldn't push up the rating, it would still garner media attention from Angry Moms Against Rational Thinking.

I just got this yesterday I'm really liking it. :) I'm only like level 4 and still hanging around Megaton. I already have a house and a AK47. Sometimes it's obvious they used the Oblivion engine... but I think this used the engine so much better than oblivion did. The voice actors aren't as bad as people were saying.

The problem was similar to the GTA issue : unused vanilla content that a modder found and revealed bumped up the rating. Also caused lawsuits. Then they realized that only about 2% of the people who got the game cared at all. Out of the thousands and thousands of people that bought that GTA, only about 2000 actually took the return-for-a-clean-version offer.

No he isn't. There's a gigantic assortment of different crashes tons of people are getting. This isn't the normal compatibility issues with a new game, it's stupidity on Bethesda's part.

Post Re: Fallout 3
good things:
- Funny.
- Lots of quests.
- VATS is quite awesome.
- the nuke.
- setting off the nuke.
- having sex with the nuke.
- did i mention the nuke?

bad things:
- the girls look like boys.
- everyone is ugly.
- the voice acting it quite lame, Liam Neesons voice clips seem badly put together.
- horrible (IMO) art style.
- same engine as Oblivion.

Lies. There's this mod.Which is awesome. :D And then there's a FacePunch thread full of pretty mods too.
Also, I went to Tenpenny tower, killed Mr. Brooke using only a lead pipe, took his clothes and sunglasses, and then went up to the balcony to Mr. Tenpenny, talked to him for a tad, and then poor Mr. Tenpenny took a combat shotgun round to the face. He proceeded to flip over the balcony, leaving only his sniper and bits of his face behind. Apparently some physical laws don't apply in Fallout 3, because I then looted his dead corpse, which was 75 feet below me, using only the leftover chunks of face. Then, posing as Mr. Tenpenny, with my new suit, I proceeded to systematically kill and dismember each stuck up, ♥♥♥hole resident. After that, I went after the security guards, and Mr. Gomez, or whatever the hell his name was, received a new ♥♥♥hole, free of charge. Finally, I created a massive orgy pile consisting of legs, arms, heads, and other bodily bits in the main lobby. Am I a sick, twisted, sadistic psycho? Of course. Fun? Hell yes.

I have, at one point or another, killed every citizen I've encountered except for parts of Megaton and Rivet City.

Many major towns have been killed just as soon as I finish the quest they give me.

Oh for the want to annihilate Little Lamplight, however.

There's a mod that lets you kill children, now.
