But that discussion is off topic, as the OP is only interested in your opinion of Halo 3 and Half Life.

I still think that it's stupid to say that Halo 3 is a bad game just because you think that Halflife 2 is better. I've played both, and enjoy both. Though, I've probably played though Halo 3 more times than I've played through Halflife 2.

Well half life 2 is the obvious winner, as halo 3 doesn't have anywhere near the moddability it does, and the complete successful mods for hl2. Including mods, hl2 has more weapons and npcs. The graphics are superior if your graphics card can handle it.

Half Life 2 for so many reasons. Halo just looks and feels childish in comparison.

this is opinions, i like half-life2 but halo3 is just so much more fun, gmod ofcourse owns it but.. it doesnt count. halo 3 is better IMO because i prefere more fast pased shooter games. however i know half-life2 is better made, and the devs are better than the sold out bungie. it just depends on style of play and thats how i play, so i hope you respect opinions.

multi-player, i havent played HL2 on multi-player

halo has master chief, elites, brutes, jackals, you know, a wide variety of enemys.
HL2 has... combine soldiers with differant weapons. headcrabs.... and antlions. wow... lame...
so for enemies, halo wins,

weapons
the pistol, and revolver, in HL2, are both better than the magnum, and the plasma pistol, in H3
Gravity gun has no equal.
the machine-guns in halo are better though, EXCEPT that one with the explosive rounds and the energy ball.

Crossbow, Halo has no equal to that.
Halo has plasma swords and hammers, halflife has a crowbar.

point is,
if you had the single player of HL2, with the enemies of halo,
with a mix of the weapons from the two, (crossbow, pistols, Brute-shot, Spartan laser, gravity gun, etc)
the grenades from Halo, to replace the HL2 grenades, keep HL2's engine,

you'd have the perfect game.

also, HL2 has better character development.
