you dont choose straight away. Lance has the most choice. But you have 9 whole lvls to decide your class. Then you do a quest(Each is diff depending on what u wana be)

About the pay-to-get-items... I think you can get some of that stuff in-game, but since they're said to be such a PITA to camp, they're sold like that. You could also trade Item Mall points inside ToP, but I wonder what the going rate for them is...

Took me a while to realize I can use that mystery box they handed over when creating new character. It dropped new useful gear in the inventory every 5 levels I've tried it. Though the description of it said something like "You solved the puzzle by not using this item until class selection..." that I don't know what exactly it means. Maybe that you have to be level 10 before attempting to open it? Or perhaps it has more conditions to it.

No, to dual wield you just drag a sword to the shield slot. That's all there is to it (must be swordsman or champion)

The box you get as newbie doesn't require anything special, it just works every 5 levels. Though at level 10 you have to get a class before it works again...

Looks like the ToP all realms have 3x EXP bonus going on at the very moment. That'll end as soon as midnight comes where ever their servers are located at, but after that there's still two or three more days of 2x EXP bonus. I'm not too happy about it, because it also means that all the servers are lagged six ways to Tuesday and then backwards up a tree.

There is a new server, perhaps we can make chars there to avoid...
