   |   Re: Last.FM - display your music tasteUh.If you want to talk about old school emo, Fall Out Boy is nothing close. Actual emo was a subgenre of hardcore that was prevelant in the Washington DC area in the late 80's - Rites of Spring, Fugazi, Minor Threat, Smart Went Crazy, Jawbox, etc.
 
 Then in the late 90's Warner and Sony and the like took teen-targeting pop rock and repackaged it as "emo".
 
 The real emo look was cardigan sweaters and chunky glasses and value-village clothes, not hair-over-the-eyes-and-skinny-with-eyeliner.
