I has a puzzle. :3
So I went with my mother to help her move furniture she might buy today. On display they had the most amazing and evil thing I had ever seen. It was not a rubiks cube... It was... THE ALEXANDER STAR PUZZLE OF ULTIMATE DOOM AND/OR BRAIN IMPLOSION. This diabolical mechanism taunted me... It's every moment of existence unsolved an affront to my very soul. Picking up the vile puzzle, I could feel it's burning hate. The spirit of colorful, mathematic evil lay squarely in the palm of my hand... 'I will defeat you, Alexander Star Puzzle © I.T.C. 1982 MADE IN CHINA... I will defeat you.' With this, the contraption burned a dark message into my mind... "WE ARE ALEXANDER STAR PUZZLE. WE ARE LEGION. YOU WILL NOT DEFEAT US. MANY HAVE TRIED. ALL HAVE FAILED. YOU WILL BE NO DIFFERENT. ALEXANDER STAR PUZZLE CANNOT BE DEFEATED." The message sapped me of physical energy, as I lurched to the counter of the furniture store. Slamming my hand on the table to get the attention on the store clerk, I DEMANDED to know how much this intricate death machine would set me back. "You... You can have it for free if you want. No one has EVER solved that thing." I assured the now shaking clerk, that I would arrive once more, victorious and triumphant over this ghastly star. My war wages on, with the Alexander Star Puzzle. I vow that one day, this evil device will exist unsolved NO MORE. You will fall Alexander Star Puzzle. You will fall. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander's_StarFor the sake of discussion... Converse among yourselves about puzzles. Do it.

@Dauss: One of my co-workers had one of those. She couldn't solve it, so I went and helped.. I solved it in like 45 minutes. They're pretty easy if you know how to work them. @Empy: A $200 puzzle? Seriously? @Ophanim: It's a mega-Rubik's Cube? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PyramorphixThat one looks hard.

As far as I know, no one's solved the Isis yet. There are ten codes, each a different prize. But not directly. Oh no, each is redeemable for a clue to start you on a world-wide treasure hunt. Geocaching and all that good stuff. Not to mention puzzles in how to get them.

Yeah, and I'm sure the cost of everything needed to get to the final prize is more then the cost of the prize itself... That's how they get you.

jay; It's a dodecahedron, the most complicate Rubik's Cube currently in existence. I'm getting one as soon as it's back in stock. http://www.mefferts.com/products/detail ... y=13&id=99

I have the star, and some other, wierd thing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square_One_(puzzle) The Wiki wrote: If different rotations of a given permutation are counted only once while reflections are counted individually, there are 170 × 2 × 8! × 8! = 552,738,816,000 positions.
If both rotations and reflections are counted once only, the number of positions reduces to 15! ÷ 3 = 435,891,456,000. Jeez, over half a trillion combinations. That's...a lot. I just have a standard Rubik's Cube, I'm going to buy one of those Alexander's Stars though, and maybe a Square One. - The-Masses
