GMOD 10 right?

Extract the rar or zip then move what ever file it contains into you addons folder.

Steam/steamapps/(username)/garrysmod/garrysmod/addons

The close and restart steam and they will work.

The nuke mod zip will contain some folders like lua addons and some other things to install that mod place the files in steam/steamapps/username/garrysmod/garrysmod

So just the entire folder in the main gmod folder? I wondered why they weren't working, all of them are like that, DOH! :P

Posted after 5 minutes 15 seconds:

I got the mods off of Garrysmod.org too. I still don't get it, lol. So do I just take the entire "NukeV3" folder and put it in the main folder that you said, or do I extract the lua and the rest into the other lua folders or what, sorry I'm stupid, lol.

Ok some mods will just have a folder that has the same name as the mod these are the ones that you put into the addons folder.

The nukeV3 file when extracted will have a folder called garrysmod place that in.

C:/programfiles/steam/steamapps/usename/garrysmod

Make sure you place it at that exact filepath and not

C:/programfiles/steam/steamapps/usename/garrysmod/garrysmod

That should get the nuke working for you.

You are getting the mods from garrysmod.org right?

Im sure there is a better tut on how to install mods on the facepunch forums.

Im sorry I really suck at explaining things.

Yeah, well...

The Dauss Yet-To-Be-Made Logo of Raging Awesome is better then both combined.

On a related note, my friends are convinced that Garrys mod is killing thier cimputer by loading so many different objects at once.

True? Not true?

My computer works perfectly fine, if they have a problem with to much ♥♥♥♥ going on a once, exit out background things like Xfire or steam etc. Or they might want to get a bigger RAM so they can store them and not have to load them every time.

For nuke beta 3, the .zip contains a "NukeV3" folder right? Put that in your addons folder (Master Pimp gave the location in his first post).

Here's the rule of thumb for installing mods:

-If there's an "info.txt" then:
a)There will be a folder with a possibly relevant name that contains info.txt, and other folders like lua, models, sounds, etc. Copy the folder into your addons folder.
b)There's just folders and an info.txt in the archive. In this case make a new folder in your addons folder (name it something relevant) and copy the files into it

-If there's no "into.txt" but there are folders like maps, lua, models, sounds, etc. then:
a)Just extract all the folders into your garrysmod folder. It'll probably need to merge/override other folders.
b)Create a folder in your addons folder (relevant name). Copy the folders/files into it. Then, copy a info.txt from one of the other mods and change the details so it's relevant. This allows you to quickly delete mods.

Hope that helps,
-Metroid48

I would have said that but I don't have gmod anymore so I wasn't sure if it was called info.txt or something else.
