I'm looking for a spriter
Hey all i'm looking for an experienced spriter who can make futuristic space ships *pretty much any spaceship ever drawn in a game =p*. I'm making a game sort of like asteroids but instead of asteroids its just lots of ♥♥♥♥ that shoots at you. Either way my drawing abilities are fairly lacking (read: don't exist) so i was hoping someone here could do it. My only request is that you make one ship that looks like the post, since thats the players one. Also for that ship i want a turret gun that will be displayed on top of it. For everything else they can look like whatever, just nothing really bigger than the sprite I'm attaching Which is my original sprite for the player. I would have colored it but the original plan was to make a vector based shooter but i couldn't pull off the amazing art that needed to do it so it just never got colored and now im asking for help.
All i need is for each enemy to have some sort of weapon that comes with it, and the weapons need to have bullets / missiles that they will shoot. Just name them together so i know. I can't offer you anything really, just when i make the game they'll be a mention of you and you can have me put in anything you want (maybe a website you put art on or just anything you want)
I'm going on my family vacation tomorrow i'll try to bring a laptop but i'm unsure if where i'll be staying will have internet access. So if i don't reply within a day or so assume i don't and i'll get back to you as soon as possible. I doubt you'd want to start early but if you do go right ahead. Thanks to anyone who replies.
Quick list of what I'd want: 1. Player + enemy ships including weapons and fired ammo, no casings needed. 2. Any sort of explosion for the destruction of ships would be nice but not needed. 3. Any powerups, i would like a shield one, health and gun upgrade. 4. A shield sprite that i can use for when you get the shield upgrade 5. Afterburner sprites to be used on some ships *if the ship isn't made to use one just let me know* 6. Some kind of "charge up" shot, like a laser beam or just bigger bullets or something.
Also just so you know the players gun doesn't shoot straight forward out of the ship its mouse tracking which is why its a turret on top, enemy ships can have this, i would like at least 2 types to use this kind, other kinds can use whatever, straight firing weapons like mounted lasers on the wings. If they use missiles though, give them a laser and make this missiles sprites separate from the ship since i want them to have a limited amount.
Anything else i can think of or you can thatd be good for this kind of game please either let me know or just go ahead and make it and make a note of it.
Even if you don't want to do all of it and say only the ships or something i'll take that too, any help is appreciated!
( i forgot to say, all sprites need to face towards the right, and the top left pixel is used to make things transparent, so outline the ship in a color that you won't use on the ship, or just make a one digit change to the space outside of the ship since anything the color of the top left pixel will become transparent in game )

I don't suppose you could release a quick beta of this, e.g. with placeholder sprites. That could boost interest in your project.

Re: I'm looking for a spriter
I suppose I can, it's very buggy, the graphics suck *kinda the point of this post* and the game play isn't anything like it will so I'll put it out but i wanna stress that in no way does this look or feel like the final game play, this is more like an alpha of a beta, I've been working on it for literally 2 days but here you go.
Alenth: i don't quite understand do you mean what language is the game in? or what? (if its the game than English
*some bugs are like the guns don't blow up with the enemy ships, if you get hit more than once before re spawning 2 of your ships are made, sometimes you can respawn off screen, the screen isn't the size it will be yet etc etc etc.* But you get the basic idea, fly around, shoot things. Pretty straight forward
WASD moves, mouse aims, left click shoots.

File comment: Just double click, if you kill everything you need to restart although idk why you'd want to XD

Re: I'm looking for a spriter
OOO, to be absolutely honest, i don't know.
I'm making the game with something called "Game Creator" it's sort of a drag and drop game creator, now i know what your thinking but let me explain.
Instead of using drag and drop stuff *which you really couldn't make a good game with* I'm just using the app as like an organizer, because you can just use code. I don't recognize it but its VERY straight forward as in you can just sort of guess what to type to do stuff and it'll show a list of matching commands and its pretty self explanatory if you've dabbled in any kind of coding at all even just a little bit.
Like having an object create something * like a gun making a bullet * i just kind of guessed words until i typed in instance, then i got a big list of instance_.... commands then i found instance_create, and i worked from there.
Im sure if you go to the gamecreator website you could find out, i'm just too lazy to do it and with help from the forum there and just simple guess work I've figured out the language so ya thats the story behind that =p.
If your curios to see the good stuff that you can make with it by using coding and not dragging and dropping look up "rainbow wars" that was made with the same program.

Re: I'm looking for a spriter
Sounds like it just uses its own scripting language rather than a programming language.
I can still learn it though. Can't be hard.

Re: I'm looking for a spriter
If it's drag-and-drop, that would likely be Game Maker. The new versions can include add-ons made in the Game Maker Extension Maker (GEX), Game Maker Language (GML), Game Maker Libraries (LIB) and DLLs. Pretty much anything is possible at this point. The coding you mostly use in GM is GML, though, which is loosely based on C and other common languages... If you know some stuff about other languages, it should be quite easy.
