Tips for a nub?
Well anyways, I just downloaded this yesterday and was playing it all night, really fun stuff, on top of the wealth of mods I'll be making myself, I'm sure I'll stick with this game for a while. But I noticed... my guy is a ♥♥♥♥♥ TO CONTROL. I bump my head, I break my legs off, I get stuck in dirt, and I walk like old people screw. Slow and sloppy. Now I play alot of soldat, and there are alot of little moves and tricks that the beginner knows nothing about. Somersaults, backflips, skiing and little movement tricks to keep you agile and moving fast and all that good stuff, are there any tricks or maneuvers like that in the game? Also, what else would you suggest? I usually stick my brain vault in the dirt and make a small bowl out of 1x1 cement blocks to keep extra clones then I explode some heads. Anything else I should be doing to heighten my experience? Please let me know.

The reason for this is all actors in this game are completely physic driven unlike soldat, your clones/robots are walking ragdolls. Eventually you'll get used to it.

Re: Tips for a nub?
a trick with the jetpack is to stop holding down the jetpack button if you are rotating fast downwards...

Re: Tips for a nub?
Actually, if your character is doing somersaults--the best idea is to try to time short bursts of the jetpack to counter and stop the spin.
Sometimes you just don't have enough time--and with weaker actors, you're going to have casualties.
The head-bashing, arm-breaking, leg-losing gameplay is one of the main characteristics that define this game's genre. If you aren't satisfied with it--or don't like playing it--Cortex Command is not really for you.

No no no, I actually love it, I'm just afraid the day this game goes online there's gonna be guys doing backflips over me with there gun in my mouth while balancing a stack of cards.
I think this game is awesome, great strategic gameplay, haven't nearly come close to mastering it but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.

The control will be choppy and clumsy the first time you play. Eventually you'll get used to it

Re: Tips for a nub?
Im a soldat player too and I love this game. Ive done a load of mods and keep making them because modding this game can be VERY addicting and fun.
If you'll be wanting to mod I suggest download a few mods and look at their simple code maybe screw around with it like add more mass to something or increase sharpness.. Then I remember there was a topic in mod making section that explains the majority of the variables (Its pretty old, but its still useful.)
Also there are mod templates for some mod types. Not all possible though, you can make pretty much alot with the code.
As for controlling, I prefer keyboard. Its more stable and gives you more precise control over your troop. The aiming is slighty slower but it allows to be sharp with your shots. Also, the green clone has a burst feature in its jetpack, hit the jetpack button repeateadly to accelerate much faster and fly farther.

That's a good point. Since you're mainly a Soldat player, do you use the mouse? The keyboard really blows it out of the water in this game.

The main problem is in CC mouse aiming is that there is no CURSOR. I play CC windowed for faster gameplay and using mouse might accidently lead to clicking outside the window like in maddness interactive and oops! youre out of the game. If I get a proper cursor, Ill switch to mouse aim right away. (If it will work well.)

Well there is that little red line, but that thing is impossible to use effectively when your blasting guys on the left then immediately have to defend your back.
I think mouse aim is the best reason to play games on a PC, precision.
