Post Funny fact about controlling bodies
How come you can remote control bodies that you order from the sky with a rocket, yet you can't control bodies that you have just shot with your own bodies? Or bodies that other brains order? D: I find it strange... Well, I totally understand this in the case of robots, as they're more fragile and maybe they have some "only-one-user" modules in their HDDs...
It would be cool if you would get the body in control after you kill it, with for example half of its former health. And of coruse, it wouldn't get its gibs back... That's a good reason why not to use mass distrah'xawn weapons... Which would be too easy to use in the future btw.

My god, are you suggesting that the opposing team gather an army of headless, zombie green clones ? Because if you haven't noticed from playing already, clones tend to explode violently upon contact with gunfire :D.

No. Just no.

Controlling the enemies body is a horrible idea. Imagine having an uber base defence, just for your friend to switch to a clone in your brain room and kill it.

Also, in real war, whenever you die. You don't magically come back to life as the enemy.

CC is more or less based in reality, what your suggesting is not based in reality.

Kokoits: What. What? You do know you're just a brain in CC? In real life, you don't just remote control bodies either, you know that? Or.. Are you a brain in a jar?
Also, that was just part of the point, I never said you should be able to control idling enemy bodies. I just said that you should be able to control bodies that the enemy brain has lost control of. (And I can't really remember if they die s o horribly and gorefully, but if they always do, you could just change it. Or... Something.)

I see what you mean. But when the Enemy loses control of the remote body then the thing which is establishing the connection is broken so no other Brain could take control of it.

You don't control dead bodies because their brains cease to function. It's kinda what being dead means, you know?

And you don't control the enemy's clones because the brains use UHF channels.

Or something like that.

As grif said, you'd expect the clones of the different brains to have their own serial key, so to speak. You could only control those clones using a unique brain wave key, and the enemy doesn't know it. See what I'm getting at?

Well, this would make an interesting mission idea for the single player. Ttrying to find out the serial key from some computer and killing few enemies and using their bodies, or just rushing in and killing everything. More ways to win are always a good idea.

Do they have to die if you lose control of them? What about when you lost control of a body, he would be part of the ai. So they become freedom fighters!

But that goes against the idea of channels.

If a clone isn't being directly controlled, he's on an automatic, simple function.

Brainhunt, sentry, golddig, etc.

Freedom fighters... Fighting against the oppressive control of the brain he was designed to follow, so that he can live peacefully under the rule of the opposing brain that he will be reprogrammed to follow. That makes sense.

I figure that the robots and even the clones don't have brains insomuch as they have some simple central processing thing that can do basic stuff when a brain isn't directly sending and receiving signals with it. "Clone" can be a loose term that doesn't necessarily mean a human with a complete nervous system... particularly a brain.

Just imagine a life where your current host body can be swapped out, and even the most gruesome death just results in you saying "whoops" and moving to a new body. Even war becomes a game, as there'd be no actual casualties until brains got asploded. Imagine the ultimate FPS, where you gear up a tough clone and go into a raging battle for shits and giggles with your pals.

Man, that'd be the life.
