idea for explosions
i just had an idea for a later build to flesh out the explosions.
how about making the sand/mud ect. kick up like dust from an explosion, and then some particles rain back down and some dissapear in the air. and then we could see shockwaves and stuff travelling through the ground. would lagg a bit though.
if you dont get what i mean look at this game http://dan-ball.jp/en/javagame/dust/ then make a small plie of gunpower, then pile on dust and click fire on the gunpowder. its acheived by using wind. i think it looks pretty cool anyways
ps: im not trying to make this into a falling sand game style thing

Particles with a negative mass (or high velocity) will push particles in the opposite direction... So throwing dust into the air should already be possible, to some degree.

I don't see anything wrong with the current ones...

So you want a viscous liquid-type ground, eh?
I have no idea how the hell that could be done, I think its possible, but I have no programming skill.
I agree, it'd be cool to see shockwaves traveling through the ground, and mushroom clouds forming from huge explosions, but I think our processors would kill us all then, for crimes against... processor, processordom, something.
What I am trying to say is, when factored in with all of CC's other stuff, this would mean supermassive lag.

Maybe Data could implement a Particle FX system with the game to allow better detail to explosions and such

Ahaha... I love that game's help text.
"[BLOC] : Wall that doesn't pass wind and dot."
I sure wish my house had walls that didn't pass wind.

Re: idea for explosions
Why not have FSG like particle interactions? Even if it's half as detailed as actual FSGs, very cool things could still be made.
People have made controllable GAMES using only the particle based interactions of falling sand games.
