Fix Lag?
My Toshiba Tecra M1, a 3-4 year old laptop, is lagging really slow. It has 1.4ghz, and it like has 512 mb of RAM. If i upgrade the ram to 1 or 2 gbs (2 is max..), would it fix the lag?

I doubt RAM would make much of a difference. But CC requires a moderately fast processor, and that's likely what's hindering you. I can run normal mods (as in non-superweapon mods) at a decent speed on my 2.4 GHz system. But on larger maps I get lag. I think your best bet would be a new computer, with a faster architecture, to be honest.

That's because it's a superweapon, they lag most computers, due to the sheer amount of particles it creates. All those physics calculations are pretty hard on systems.

Well, my other computer (relative's) Has a 4.2 GHZ dual core processor (I think) 2048 MB RAM, Some Nvidia card (I don't have it in front of me) and can play F.E.A.R, Battlefield 2142, and Oblivion on full settings without any problems.
But it still lags some on CC when the superweapons come out to play (but I can still play decently when MaximDude's WapWipe Grande is fired). So I don't know how to completely eliminate lag.

You're not getting it. Even in games like half-life 2, you might have like 100-200 objects depending on the level, and unless you blow up the map all at once somehow, physics aren't calculated for those objects, since they are idle. However, in CC, when these explosions happen, There's like >2000 physics calculations made every tick, and that's going to be hard on every machine.

And I don't think that CC benefits at all from dual-core processors, (although this would be a nice feature in the future!) large amounts of RAM, or fast video cards. It's all in the processor, and so much stress is being put on the processor when a superweapon explodes, it's useless to expect any computer to get consistent FPS.

Hmmm... what if you had an ageia PhysX card (or would CC have to support that first)?

PhysX is (still) bull♥♥♥♥. CC would have to support it anyway.
Seen the tests? It's a MAYBE 1-2 fps increase by having the card installed, and it costs as much as a new graphics card. Also, it probably wouldn't help too much, superweapons are ridiculous amounts of physics calcs anyway.
