Should there be a modder of the week/month/year?

Just want to throw this out: should we have mod/ modder awards? I would definately nominate a few of you guys, there is some great work going on here. I think it would make modders try to do their best work, so they can try to get an award for that month, like "most out of the box" and "funniest mod" and "best map," and stuff like that. What do you think?

I think it's a great idea, it would inspire very good mods. I'll gladly be on the jury. We'll also need a "Mod Hall of Fame" for the mods that win and stuffs.

Hey, good "hall of fame" idea. There should also be a hall of shame, just to show what NOT to do if you're someone just starting out in modding.

Yeah, that guy's got talent. How about, if you win an award, you can't win that certain award again for two weeks (not set in stone). So, if he wins best actor, he can then work on something for another award fro two weeks (i'm not saying that if you win, but have more great stuff, you can't release it) . Idk, then that might make some people hold out on releasing a good mod. Any ideas?

So, I have an idea for the basic guidelines...
The jury makes a poll with all the candidate mods, and then people vote on their favorite ones.
Then, the jury takes the three top mods, and decides amongst itself which one wins. Then the winner is posted in the Hall of Fame. All mods would be accepted (maps, actors, weapons, etc). Let's say that we declare the contest, and the first twenty mods posted would enter the contest.

Perhaps the other way, where the jury picks five best mods from all the mods on the forums and the top one is voted on by everyone.

Been tried by Punisher, but didn't really get off the ground. Still a good idea.

Thanks, Kelas. Well, for the first nomination, I say Nfsjunkie91's Dmod.

EDIT: Uh, we have to have some judges for this (and someone to pick the judges). I'll make a new thread to see if anyone is interested.

Posted after 2 hours 38 minutes 45 seconds:

Okay, the judges are:

Fearful_Ferret

Kelas

Jack The Llama Commando

Joe MIkkel

Striker26

The Punisher

Everyone, begin posting what you think are good mods/scenes/etc, and the judges will review them.

Aw lame, I wanted to be a judge ;-) Oh well. Anyhoo, how long is this going to last? Six days makes sense; two for submissions, one for the judging, and then three for the polls. And the seventh day for setting up the next competition (getting judges, etc.)

Going back to mods, i'll be posting one tomorrow.
